Project Officer – WASH in Schools (1)
The WASH in Schools Project Officer will ensure that consistent high quality, technically viable water, sanitation and hygiene services are provided under CRS’-supported IWRM project at schools.
The suitable candidate will preferably have qualifications including, but not limited to;
•University degree in any one of the following disciplines: Public Health, Civil Engineering, Water & Environmental Health Sciences or a related field.
•Experience in capacity building, training and institutional development.
•Practical experience in preparing and managing infrastructure development projects and familiarity with national standards. Minimum 3 years working for a non-governmental organization or a reputable international organization.
•Formal training in CHAST and practical experience facilitating CHAST.
•Experience developing hygiene promotion messages and materials.
•Minimum one year experience implementing a WASH in Schools program.

SURE (Securing Ugandans’ Right to Essential Medicines) will ensure that the population of Uganda has access to adequate quantities of good quality essential medicines and health supplies (EMHS) by strengthening the national essential medicines and health commodities supply system.
MSH now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates
for the position following positions;
1) Pharmaceutical Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist (secondment to Ministry of Health, Kampala)
Reports To: Assistant Commissioner for Health Services, Pharmacy Division and Chief of Party, SURE
Overall Responsibility:
The Pharmaceutical M&E Specialist will be responsible for establishing a pharmaceutical sector monitoring and evaluation framework and for regularly updating the Pharmacy Division on the status of implementation and the outcomes from the various pharmaceutical interventions being implemented and supported by both GoU and its partners. In addition the job holder will:
•Work with the technical team members at pharmacy division, NDA, NMS, SURE and other key partners to develop appropriate or align available indicators, targets and methods for collecting information on support activities and performance, and assist with analysis for evidence-based decision making for sector improvements.
•Assess information needs with support from pharmacy division managers and other stakeholders to determine key issues and requirements of the required M&E system.
•Provide technical guidance,, in the design of the Pharmaceutical M&E system including design of data collection tools, collection of data from the field, and data management activities.
•Monitor performance and achievements done by Pharmacy Division in line with annual plans, NSSP, and NDP.
•Prepare periodic reports required by the Pharmacy Division and other stakeholders that support effective decision making.
•Prepare bi-monthly stock status reports.
•Support the office of the Assistant Commissioner Health Services (Pharmacy) in the Coordination of Pharmaceutical M&E activities in the Ministry of Health, development partners, implementing partners and Private Not for Profit (PNFP) sector stakeholders.

Requirement:Qualifications:1) Masters degree in public health, pharmacy, health services, statistics, research or related field. 2) At least 5 years experience in M&E in a health related field. 3) Familiarity with supply chain concepts and pharmaceutical/logistics indicators. 4) Experience with Ministry of Health procedures and practices is an added advantage. 5) Strong computer skills and understanding of statistical analysis software including the Excel programme. 6) Capacity building/training experience is a plus. 7) Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to make presentations. 8) Ability to effectively write/edit reports. Roles & Responsibilities
– The role will require the candidate to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end. Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals .Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
- Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company. Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Track project milestones and deliverables. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
- Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

Requirement:Skills & Experience- Overall 6+ experience in the industry with a minimum 3 years+ of experience covering delivery management for either a large account or a set of multiple accounts.- Qualification: Bachelors with Computer Science and preferably a PMP certification. - Experience at customer site as onsite delivery implementer or experience as Project Manager for Horizontal or Industry verticals - Experience of managing multiple customers across geographies - Well-versed with quality management processes. Supply Chain Manager
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the production scheduling, packing accessories, stock management, transportation and distribution of products in Uganda and East Africa.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain effective relationships internally and externally with all supply chain stakeholders and ensuring supply chain integrity.
• Designing and implementation of stock forecasting model that gives a reliable assessment of likely customer demand and which can drive production scheduling and ordering.
• Continually monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance including the regular use of audit and benchmarking techniques to objectively measure suppliers against a range of targets and objectives.
• Resolve disputes and claims with vendors / suppliers and customer.
• Negotiate contracts with expectation of long-term partnerships with big consumers and suppliers to reduce costs and achieve maximum efficiency.
• To manage production scheduling/ordering with our factories to ensure that stock levels match customer requirements within the constraints of working capital affordability and cash budgets.
• Manage volume based supply agreements to ensure we exploit financial incentives to deliver pre-defined volume targets. To assist in the negotiation of those volumes related deals.
• Monitoring data management to keep accurate product, contract, pricing and invoicing information.

Requirement:Knowledge, skills and experience:• A business degree with a bias in supply chain management.• 3 years' experience in the strategic planning and transportation of products.• At least 2 years experience in coordinating all of the stages involved in a supply chain.• Experience in planning of procurement, production, inventory control, logistics and distribution.• Experience of liaising with forwarders and overseas companies to arrange collections• Knowledge of managing returns and rejections professionally & promptly with suppliers. ACF now seeks to hire 2 (two) highly competent, dynamic and experienced Agronomists; one will be based in Moroto and another one will be based in Kaabong. The Agronomist is under the Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) department. The Agronomist applies the knowledge to strengthen the crop production strategies through improved agronomic practices and reviewing and recommend the appropriate productive assets for agro-pastoral community in Karamoja, He/she assists the FSL Programme Manager in the follow up of implementation, organizing training for staff and beneficiaries. He/she will further spearhead in the designing the House hold income support programme and PWP sub projects. He/she will assist in assuring objectives are achieved according to the framework/proposals & protocols. Responsibilities:

The Health Systems Strengthening Manager reports to the Technical Director

Job Summary:

The Health Systems Strengthening Manager will be responsible for providing strategic/technical expertise and guidance on supporting health systems strengthening activities for the STAR SW project. He/she will work with the country team and travel extensively to provide direct technical support and guidance to implementing partners at the regional, district, sub-district and community levels in accordance with national and international HIV/AIDS policies and standards.

The Role
We require a Donor Accountant to join the Finance team. The Gender Advisor is responsible Mercy Corps’ gender strategy and will work toward providing a framework to guide gender integration throughout the life of the SUSTAIN program and across all technical sectors. This strategy defines expected roles, responsibilities and deliverables related to gender integration.

Specifically, Mercy Corps and its partners will use a three-prong approach to achieve gender integration: 

team trained and accessing quality gender technical support to integrate gender throughout all program interventions, program activities designed and implemented to ensure maximum participation and empowerment of female and male participants across age ranges, andgender is a key component of program research; baselines, mid-terms, evaluation; and is integrated in all routine monitoring activities. In addition the Gender Advisor will be tasked with increasing awareness among Mercy Corps team members of the importance of gender integration into projects as well as identifying and promoting two to three areas where Mercy Corps has the potential to excel in gender integrated programming.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Technical Capacity

Work with Feinstein International Center (FIC) to include a comprehensive gender assessment in its baseline assessment (FIC’s SOW is included as a separate Appendix) during program start-up.  Lead basic gender training for all program team members. Coordinate closely with FIC on research inquiries to ensure gender integrationDevelop/adapt basic introduction to gender modules to be used with program participants such as health workers, government representatives, traditional leaders and youth groups. 

Skills:

The Gender Advisor will have a strong background in research, gender-based violence programs and gender training in addition to contextual experience working in the region. These skills will allow him/her to build the capacity of SUSTAIN team members to effectively integrate gender into their daily work. MA in international development, women’s studies, gender or a comparable area of studyAt least five years of experience in international development work, with a minimum of three years in field postingsSubstantial background in gender and development work including experience conducting gender training, gender mainstreaming and engaging in gender advocacyStrong writing skills requiredStrong public speaking skills requiredProficiency in a second language preferredProficiency with Microsoft OfficeWillingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, no more than 30% of time.
