We are an indigenous Pharmaceutical Manufacturing company based in Lagos, Nigeria, with State – of – art facilities seeking to employ experienced and dedicated workforce to fill the following vacant positions:

(A) PRODUCTION

A) PRODUCTION PHARMACIST II
Minimum of B.Pharm degree,
5yrs experience in the manufacture of Oral liquid and Solid dosage forms (tabs caps).
Good knowledge of cGMP norms,
Proven ability to efficiently utilize, equipt. Materials manpower to actualize set targets.

B) PRODUCTION PHARMACIST I

iii) Tablet Machine Operators
iv) Granulation Operator
v) Liquid Manufacturing
vi) Liquid Filling Machine
Minimum of SSCE/GCE or equivalent. 4 years experience in similar role.

E) TABLET COATING OPERATOR
Minimum of SSCE/GCE or equivalent. 5 yrs experience in tablet coating, emphasis on film coating of tablets.

(B) QUALITY COUNTRY
I) QC MANAGER

Graduates of Chemistry/Industrial B,Chem.
5 yrs experience in similar with minimum of a year experience in managerial role,

Exposure to audits of international bodies like WHO, UK MHRA, PICS etc will be an added advantage,
Good knowledge of the use of QC instrumentation like HPLC, UV-Spectrophotometer etc.
Good knowledge of MS-word, Excel and power point.

II) Q.C ANALYSTS
Graduates of chemical or Biological sciences.
2 yrs experience in the analysis of raw materials, finished products or packaging materials in Pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, sound knowledge of cGMP and GLP norms.

III) Q.C MICROBIOLOGIST
Graduates in Microbiology. 4 yrs experience in Industrial Microbiology, Msc Microbiology added advantage. Sound knowledge of cGMP, GLP norms.

(C) ASSISTANT MANAGER
I) QA/COMPLIANCE MANAGER:

Minimum of B.Pharm,
Current Annual Licence,
Good knowledge of cGMP norms,
Exposure to audits of International Regulatory Bodies added advantage.
Good knowledge of Production and Quality Assurance in Pharma facility,
Minimum of 2 yrs experience. Good knowledge of MS-word, excel, power point

ii) COMPLIANCE EXECUTIVES (Documentation)
SCIENCE GRADUATES,

minimum of 2 yrs experience in reputable Pharma manufacturing company.
Knowledge of cGMP norms.

iii) In-PROCESS CONTROL CHECKERS
Science graduates.
2 yrs experience in Production and/or Q.C in Pharma industry.

(D) WARE HOUSE
I) WARE HOUSE MANAGER

B.Sc/HND in Management Sciences, Biological sciences, Chemical sciences, Marketing or related field.
5yrs experience in logistics management preferably in Pharma industry.
Proficiency in Ms-Word, Excel and Power point.

II) WARE HOUSE PERSONNEL/SUPERVISORS
B.Sc/HND in Management Sciences, Biological sciences,
Chemical sciences, Marketing or related field.
2yrs experience in logistics management preferably in Pharma industry.
Proficiency in Ms-Word, Excel and Power point,

(E) RD MANAGER
B.Pharm, M.Pharm Pharmaceutics or Pharm, Chemistry, current Annual Licence to Practice.
5yrs experience in Pharmaceutical manufacturing 2of which MUST have been in New product development.
Proficiency with computer, Good knowledge of cGMP and cGLP.

(F) ENGINEERING
I) ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (Mechanical and Electrical)
Minimum of SSCE/GCE or equivalent city Guilds Certificates, 5yrs experience.

Ii) HVAC Technician

Ill) Boiler Technician
5yrs experience in industrial Air condition installation and maintenance, Good knowledge of HVAC systems. City Guild, and Trade Certificate.

(G) SALES MARKETING
I) PRODUCT MANAGER/ETHICAL OTC:

B.pharm from a recognised University,
MBA an added advantage,
registered with the PCN.
Minimum of 5 years marketing experience with a flare for product research and at least two yrs of related experience

Ii. MEDICAL SALES REPS.
B.pharm, 2yrs experience, Computer literate, must possess valid driving licence

Iii. SALES REPS.
B.Sc/HND in Marketing or other related field, 2yrs experience, Computer literate, must possess valid driving licence

Examinations Officer (Clinical) (1 post) Ref: UAHEB/HRM/002/09/2012 Reports to Senior Examinations officer.

Duties and responsibilities:

    Participate in setting, invigilation, marking and compilation of examination reports.
Preparation of examination materials i.e. examination cards, examination answer booklets and letters of invitation to stakeholders who participate in the examinations.
Analyze the results of examinations, compiles and disseminate reports.

Requirement:

    A professional in Clinical Medicine and Community Health.
Any other Diploma or equivalent in health related field from a recognized Institution.

Concern Worldwide Uganda is recruiting for various positions for the USAIDfunded PL 480 Title II Development Food Aid programme called “Resiliency through Wealth, Agriculture and Nutrition RWANU”) in Karamoja to be implemented from August 2012 through July, 2017.

RWANU will focus on two strategic objectives to reduce food insecurity among vulnerable rural populations in selected sub –counties in 4 districts of Karamoja: (1) Improved availability and access to food and (2) reduced malnutrition in pregnant and lactating mothers and children under five. All positions will be based in Karamoja

1. Health Facilities Support Manager

will be responsible for managing all health facility support components of RWANU. Specifically S/he will liaise and work with District Health Teams and health facility personnel to ensure quality provision of a range of services to pregnant and lactating women and children under five. S/he will provide technical support and capacity building to clinical personnel at health centres.

Requirements:

Registered General Nurse/Midwife or Clinician to degree level. Experience in health service delivery/management preferred. A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience working in and managing health related projects in a challenging environment; previous experience with NGO/INGO preferred.

Experience of working in partnership with district local government is essential. In addition to strong technical capacity, s/he will have excellent personnel management skills, leadership qualities, mediation and facilitation skills.

2. Social and Behaviour Change Communication Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating all Social and Behaviour Change Communication components of RWANU.

S/ he will participate in formative research for developing the social behavior change strategy and will advise in the design and development of related materials and approaches. S/he will lead on training and supporting project staff and partners tasked with delivering SBCC activities.

Requirements:

include Master’s degree in Public health, health promotion or related field, specialism in social and behaviour change communication preferred.

A minimum of 5 years relevant experience including 2 of which will be in Karamoja. Demonstrable skills in participatory planning and team approaches. Experience in developing materials for a variety of target audiences. Strong skills in community development and Care Group model is an advantage.

3. Nutritionist

Will provide training (nutrition) and technical support, including M&E, to the project and undertake specific tasks allocated to this role including food basket monitoring. S/he will work on two key areas of nutrition namely the first 1,000 days of life approach and IMAM.

S/he will contribute to the development of nutrition components of SBCC and care-group model. S/ he will support VHT (Village Health Teams) activities including surveillance. S/he will work in partnership with local stakeholders including UNICEF, WFP, Health facilities and district local government. Requirements include diploma/degree in Nutrition with 3-5 years experience.

Previous experience of nutrition programming including IMAM in Karamoja preferred. Experience with food basket monitoring and Care Group approach desired. Experience of

working in partnership with district local government and local health services including VHTs is essential.

4. Administration and Support Services Manager

Will lead and manage logistics, transport, security, procurement, IT, and administration functions of RWANU.

Specifically, s/he will provide advice in the strengthening of logistics and procurement systems, ensure that IT systems remain effective and oversee the maintenance of the field office and residential accommodation spaces. S/he will provide basic HR, health & safety and security briefing to all Karamoja visitors.

Requirements:

Include degree in Business Administration or related field and 5 years relevant working experience in an NGO. S/he will have strong leadership qualities, excellent organizational, planning and communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

5. Field Accountant

Will provide financial support to the RWANU project. S/he will be responsible for project petty cash, keeping records of all field financial transactions, submitting monthly accounts to the Kampala office and cash flow management.

The Field Accountant will also ensure that donor financial regulations are followed at field level and that Concern’s financial policies are adhered to.

Requirements:

Include a University degree in Accounting/Finance or Business studies and CPA Part II, proficiency in Microsoft office (particularly excel), 3 years minimum work experience in finance. Experience in international NGO & understanding of USAID regulations and previous field level experience are desirable.

S/he will be a team player with good communication, organization and planning skills with proven attention to detail. All positions require candidates to have excellent spoken and written English with knowledge of Ngakarimojong preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft office is essential.

Prepare + circulate reports/calendars and other periodical reports

Qualification

* An Honors degree in Sports Science or Honors degree in Education with a post Graduate qualification in sports science.

(2) ACCOUNTANT:

Job Description

• Head of the Accounts Section

• Maintain and keep proper books of accounts

• Review the statement of expenditure and petty cash vouchers for accuracy, proper documentation and authorizations

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and bank reports

• Monitor outstanding cheques/deposits in transit and follow up for clearing.

• Record deferred and earned income for uncashed cheques

• Prepare report of taxable income accrued but not paid

• Prepare quarterly cash budget

• Receiving revenue and issuing receipts for record purposes

• Preparing books of accounts for purposes of accountability

• Banking revenue and carry out reconciliation on bank statements to iron out discrepancies

• Producing financial reports and statements and forward them to the relevant authorities

• File all financial documents and communications on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records

Qualification

Bachelor degree in Commerce, Business Administration (Accounting preferred).

Professional Qualification in ACCA, CPA will be an added advantage

At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in accounting/ auditing from a recognized institutions.

Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills

Data Manager

Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) in collaboration with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are undertaking a project to establish surveillance systems for Most-at-Risk Populations (MARPs) in Uganda. The project based at Makerere University School of Public Health now invites applications for the following position:

DATA MANAGER (1 position)

Job Summary: The Data Manager will create, update, maintain, validate databases, and provide expertise in analysis of data for the MARPs Surveillance project.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop an in-depth understanding of the program/ research study’s design, goals and implementation so that s/he can participate fully in the successful execution of the study.

• Develop, support and manage databases for the MARPs surveillance project.

• Undertake a wide range of data management processes including data security, ensuring all data are entered routinely within set timelines and any data queries are followed up promptly, and production of reports.

• Provide feedback to the Project Manager regarding the quality assurance of data, detected deficiencies and corrective action in the databases.

• Deal with routine problems arising in the course of data handling

• Perform data cleaning and ensure that all data entered is of high quality.

• Develop data analysis plans

• Conduct data analysis and participate in writing of reports and other publications.

• Report writing

• Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• A Bachelors Degree in computer Science, applied mathematics or statistics and information technology from a recognized university.

• Ability to design/develop computer databases, demonstrated experience with EPI INFO, STATA /SAS programming for data manipulation/report writing, production, processing and documentation skills.

• Demonstrated ability in cleaning data and performing data quality assurance procedures

• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and writing.

• Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate and work as a team

• Be able to prioritize work and meet set deadlines

• Field experience with data collection is essential.

Minimum Experience and Exposure

Two years experience in data management.

Experience in monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage

Job Title: Finance Manager
Reporting to the Finance  Director , the incumbent will manage  the  finance  function  of the project  to ensure efficient utilization of  resources in a manner  that the risk , cost and control  considerations are properly balanced  in all given situations  in the project districts .  The incumbent will have  direct responsibility  for the budget , and will supervise  the finance team.
Specific  Responsibilities :
•    Prepare and consolidate  project budgets  and annual plans  for each financial  year
•    Monitor  expenditure to ensure  adherence to  budgetary  limits
•     Review  consolidated  cash forecasts for the project  districts to ensure  optimal funding  for running  project activities

The HIV/AIDS Division is a vital academic research and clinical center whose goals include generating new knowledge to improve the care of vulnerable patients.
The proposed Analyst III will provide regulatory and administrative support for the international SEARCH research group, in the UCSF Department of Medicine. SEARCH (Sustainable East Africa Research Collaboration) is a multinational, multidisciplinary consortium assembled to conduct research that evaluates bold health interventions at the community level that inform policy makers and funding agencies through the inclusion of health, economic and education parameters and through innovative, efficient study designs. The incumbent will serve on a multidisciplinary team consisting of clinical researchers, epidemiologists, field site directors, regulatory managers, and international colleagues and peers.

The purpose of this position is the coordination of a broad spectrum of research activities focusing on community health campaigns and HIV delivery systems as part of the SEARCH program conducted in Mbarara and Tororo, Uganda. The person in this position has the primary responsibility of supporting day-to-day research activities on site in Uganda and informational support to investigators at UCSF. This person will have additional responsibilities in protocol training and implementation, regulatory compliance according to internationally recognized ethical principles and GCP regulations, and working with the data team ensuring data quality. The incumbent will act as a liaison between UCSF Investigators, international contract employees, outside contracted laboratories, as well as regulatory officials; and perform other duties as assigned. In addition, this position will be based in Uganda with some travel to San Francisco.

Job purpose: To lead the teams in projects related to older people in Entebbe, Masaka town and Kalungu District. The holder will report to the Head of the Social Science Programme.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the finalisation of protocols and other documentation for projects related to older people and ensure all stages of the regulatory process are completed (MRC Science meeting review, SEC review, UNCST/ President’s office review and, once approved, progress reporting and final reporting to regulatory bodies).

• Undertake the design and implementation of data collection tools for projects, as appropriate. This includes taking an active part in testing, piloting and undertaking design and management of research tools and associated activities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Operations Management:
* Directly supervise operations staff and provide day to day support to program staff based in the field.
* Establish regular communications between programmes and operations to effectively identify and address specific issues.
* Provide regular, timely feedback and recommendations on operational and program issues to the Deputy Director, Operations (DDO) to ensure corrective measures are put in place and good practices are upheld.
* Support program and operations staff and ensure that staff has enough resources and support for activities in the field.
* Security
* Monitor the security situation in Kitgum District, and keep senior Kampala staff informed of developments with implications for staff safety and for program implementation.
* Compile security reports and submit to DDO on a weekly basis.
* Ensure all staff are in compliance with relevant IRC security procedures and protocols.
* Actively participate in the revision of the IRC Uganda Security Management Plan.

* Logistics
* Oversee logistics support operations including procurement, stock management, vehicle operations, equipment maintenance and repair (including communications and computer equipment) in compliance with IRC and donor logistic policies.

* Human Resources / Administration
* Work with the HR Manager to plan and coordinate the recruitment of all Kitgum field based staff.
* Ensure that performance evaluations for all staff are conducted on time, and review all evaluations to ensure quality and consistency.
* In liaison with the human resources team and department heads, identify training needs for staff and spearhead coaching and mentoring initiatives.
* Ensure fair and consistent disciplinary management system in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Ensure all staff are aware of and in compliance with relevant IRC human resources and administrative policies;

* Representation / Communications
* Represent IRC at the local District authorities (administrative, sectoral and security officials), UN agencies, fellow NGOs and other stakeholders;

Background

UNDP is providing financial and technical assistance to Government of Uganda  towards improving policies and strategies for environment and natural resources management and climate risk management.

The aim of the support is to contribute to strengthening of national capacity for policy implementation through review and  or development of policies and strategies.  Policies and strategies of priority include:

    National environment management policy;
EIA guidelines and regulations to mainstream health and social issues (HIV) into capital projects;
National biomass strategy;
Strategies for electronic waste management;
Institutional coordination for ENR and climate risk management activities.

In Uganda, Climate Risk Management interventions are being implemented in a sector based approach by different ministries and agencies both at national and district level as across cutting issue and mainly co-ordinated by the Disaster Risk Reduction platform based at Office Of the Prime minister. However, there is need to conduct a national capacity needs assessment of these institutions in order to develop a training manual and improve coordination among the institutions.

As part of strengthening coordination of climate risk management, government is seeking services of a Consultant(Ugandan National)  to conduct a National Institutional Capacity Needs Assessment on Climate Risk Management.

Duties and Responsibilities

Objective of the Assignment:

To assess the institutional capacities in CRM and develop training manual for CRM.

Scope of work:

The scope of the consultancy will include but not limited to:

    Conduct detailed institutional capacity needs assessment of selected institutions at national and regional level on Climate Risk Management. These includes government ministries and agencies, selected District Local Government from all the regions in Uganda, (Karamoja region, northern region, western region, Eastern region and central) including international, National and local humanitarian organizations with Climate Risk Management Interventions;
Identify the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of the institutions on climate risk Management;
Identify CRM interventions among the selected institutions;
Propose interventions for strengthening CRM for selected institutions;
Develop training guide for CRM for technical staff at both national and district level staff;

Methodology:

    Brief desk-based review of any existing information and CRM interventions will be conducted;
Field-based key informant interviews with representatives of districts and Institutions at both national and regional levels to identify Strength, weak neses and the opportunities / challenges involved in CRM.

Outputs/Deliverables:

The specific outputs will include:

    An inception report for the study to be reviewed by a selected technical team;
Draft report to be reviewed by a selected technical team;
Final National institutional capacity needs for Climate Risk Management report;
A training guide for Climate Risk Management for technical staff at national and district level

Duration and Timelines:

The consultancy will utilise up to 20 person/work days  spread over a period of one month.

Liaison and Reporting:

The Consultant will report to the Resident Representative on all contractual obligations and to The Permanent secretary in Office of the Prime minister, through the commissioner, Department of Disaster Preparedness on all technical and day-to-day delivery of the assignment.

The consultant will implement the assignment under the guidance of Technical focal point persons and technical staff at OPM and Climate change Unit

All reports shall be submitted to Office of the Prime Minister with copy to UNDP.  OPM shall certify all deliverables before UNDP effects any payments.

UNDP-GOU Support to the Consultant:

    Access to all past reports and data relevant to this assignment;
Access to the UNDP Office and its infrastructure;
Assistance to gain access to relevant stakeholders for discussions and to obtain information pertaining to the consultancy;
Transport for visits to stakeholders in Kampala and its vicinity.

Competencies

    Good understanding of Disaster Risk Reduction and climate change;
Knowledge on decentralisation and governance systems in Uganda.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

    The candidate should possess an advanced degree. Qualification in the fields of, Disaster risk reduction, climate risk management, Climate change management, environment and natural resources is an added advantage.

Experience:

    At least 5 years experience  in the field of Environment management, Climate change or disaster risk reduction;
Professional experience in undertaking institutional and organisational capacity needs assessment and development of capacity development plan.

The Dispensers for Safe Water (DSW) program centers on an innovative low-cost drinking water treatment technology – the chlorine dispenser - that was developed through research collaboration between the organization, Harvard University, and the University of California - Berkeley. The chlorine dispenser has achieved high usage rates among communities and significantly reduces waterborne disease. This promising new technology has received strong interest from a number of partners, including several ministries of Kenya's government, major foundations, and leading water sector organizations. The project is currently transitioning from the proof-of-concept stage to large-scale implementation.

As part of the global scale-up efforts to launch programs beyond Kenya’s, the East Africa Manager will be responsible for leading the program’s expansion efforts in Uganda and Rwanda. DSW has ambitious growth plans over the next five years, and the Program Manager for East Africa Expansion will play a key role in building high-performing programs that will serve millions.Reporting to the Director of Global Programs, the PM position requires the entrepreneurial skills to take a program from pilot to scale. This includes building and managing relationships with governments and partners, executing pilot projects and developing plans to scale, building systems to ensure quality programming, and supervising field operations in these countries. While the initial focus will be on Uganda and Rwanda, the PM will apply these lessons to emergent and expanding programs across the region (Ethiopia and Tanzania), as well as globally.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
• Contribute to strategic planning processes working with the Program Director – Global, for DSW expansion in East Africa – specifically Uganda and Rwanda. This includes identifying HR needs and growing the necessary team capacity in each country.
• Take overall responsibility for executing activities in line with program strategy.
• Adapt systems and best-practices and tools (both operational and for surveying) from Kenya and other DSW country programs to support program implementation in other East African countries.
Field Operations Management:
• Prepare work plans for the execution of field activities to take pilots through stages of expansion.
• Recruit, supervise, guide, support and develop field team for implementation and evaluation of dispensers program.
• Supervise field operations, including managing community outreach, site selection, communication and education activities, installations, chlorine supply chain and monitoring and evaluation.
• Create systems and develop resources for ensuring program-wide application of best-practices and sharing lessons learned with partners and other stakeholders.
• Conduct operational monitoring and analysis and apply lessons to improve operations and increase effectiveness and impact of programs.
• Liaise with relevant government ministries, stakeholders and partners to coordinate activities.
• Manage regular chlorine adoption surveys, contributing to analysis and report-writing of findings.
• Effectively coordinate with support functions offered by the organization’s Uganda country office and international headquarters.
• Provide occasional technical assistance to and liaise with other global programs outside of East Africa as necessary.
Partnership and Relationship Management:
• Maintain, build upon and seek out new relevant relationships with current partners in Uganda, Rwanda and Ethiopia. These partners are other international organizations, local organizations, government ministries, and local government administrative bodies.

Qualifications
Experience:
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree, master’s degree preferred, and a strong academic record

Job Title: Technical Advisor, Local Government Capacity Building

The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager and will work with Local Government OVC response Structure in LG systems strengthening for effective planning, monitoring and reviewing, implementation of OVC response in the Project Districts in collaboration with the Local Government.

The incumbent will also support the Project Manager in the key roles of project management and ensure that capacity building component activities are delivered smoothly within the stipulated time frame, budget and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

    Provide technical support and lead on timely implementation of activities of the capacity building component.
Work very closely and build capabilities of Local Government to effectively plan, manage and coordinate an integrated OVC response.
Support Local Government and OVC service providers to effectively plan and mobilize resources for delivery of OVC services at all levels.
Prepare program work plans, periodic reports according to donor and Child Fund requirements in a timely manner.
Identify and coordinate capacity building strategies among the service providers for effective and efficient service delivery towards orphans and other vulnerable children.
Organize and coordinate support supervision ensuring adherence to policy, laws, and quality standards for OVC services provisions.
Promote community awareness on a range of existing OVC-related policies and program guidelines within each of the target districts.
Support local systems and the capacity of district local governments to initiate and consolidate partnerships with civil society organizations at all levels to implement district OVC Plans;
Collaborate with various stakeholders for strengthening the capacity of local governments and civil society to provide quality care to OVCs and their families and resulting into improved quality of life of OVC.
Provide technical support capacity in lobbying and advocacy will result into widespread knowledge of government legislation, policies and available resources for OVC.

Qualifications and Other Abilities:

    Advanced degree in development studies, Social Science or it equivalent
High level of interpersonal, influencing, organizational & management skills and effectively working with others
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge on OVC policies, quality standard/tool and OVC programming, Local Government systems and operation Strong understanding of USAID “rules and regulations governing USG funded programs
Ability to develop effective working relationships with USAID, government counterparts at all levels, local organizations, and other program partners.
Relevant experience of working in LG system strengthening will be an added advantage

Experience:

    A minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in a similar position in a child focused institution or Local Government capacity building
Experience working on donor funded projects preferably on USAID funded projects
Experience working on government systems strengthening is critical
