NFT Consult, a leading HR Consultancy firm, seeks to recruit for its

valuable client, a leading distributor

currently engaged in the exclusive distribution of leading FMCG brands of a

multinational within the regions of Masaka, Lyantonde and Kyotera with plans

for expansion of its trading territories and /product categories to leverage

and extend its distribution platform.


Job Summary:  The General Manager will play a key leadership

role in building organizational capacity and in driving the company’s continued

growth and profitability.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
In charge of the planning, oversight, and ultimate

execution of the company’s strategy and annual operating plan.


·        
Assess the available facilities, operating stock,

infrastructure and other systems and develop a prioritized capital budget.


·        
Work closely with the Executive Chairman on

development and implementation of company sales and distribution philosophy and

strategy.


·        
Proactive role in building relationships with our

current suppliers and prospective suppliers through regular meetings,

conferences, trade shows and community events.


·        
Steer new business development based on market

analysis – geographical, product growth or acquisition growth.


·        
Work in liaison with the Sales team to ensure best

practices with regards to prospect development, pricing, margins, closing new

business deals and competitive information.


·        
Responsibility for overall stock management via the

management of Depot Managers and Store supervisors.


·        
Coordinate with all other departments to ensure

management is provided with correct and timely information on business results,

trends and opportunities.


·        
Actively promote and maintain a high quality,

professional and service-oriented culture throughout the organization.


·        
Ensure full implementation of industry-standard

safety and environmental practices.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The ideal candidate for the aforementioned General

manager vacancy should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/Finance

or Supply Chain Management preferred


·        
A minimum of five years’ experience managing all

facets of a FMCG distribution organization.


·        
Significant experience with FMCG, transport, supply

and logistics, with general management and administration experience, as well

as core regional sales management responsibility


·        
Excellent track record in developing and

implementing strategic objectives for the company and personnel.


·        
Prove leadership and excellent communications

skills.


·        
Ability to work collaboratively with all departments

within the organization.


·        
High personal drive to consistently meet or exceed

objectives and maintain focus.


·        
Strong and intuitive business acumen, with excellent

knowledge of FMCG, cost and margins.


·        
Excellent analytical skills focused on problem

solving and process improvement.


·        
Proactive leader who identifies business

opportunities.


·        
Adept at presenting to Directors as well as

mentoring in the field.
