Job Summary: The ICT Officer – Hardware and Networks will be responsible for planning, designing, supporting and maintaining the ICT network. The ICT Officer will also responsible for the installation and monitoring of the organisation’s ICT network and associated hardware. The Officer is also responsible for designing, testing and implementation of routine installation of ICT hardware including computers, network components and multi-functional devices.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the operations of outsourced ICT network and hardware services;
Conduct systematic monitoring and scanning of the enterprise external environment to identify emerging technologies that have the potential to create business value;
Assess availability, performance and capacity of services and resources to ensure justifiable cost capacity and performance are available to support business needs and to deliver against agreed service level agreements;
Work closely with the strategy office and the directorates to determine future network requirements and produce network designs to meet the network availability, performance and security of UNRA;
Carry out operational procedures and tasks reliably and consistently to reduce the risk of un planned outages;
Perform network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and escalate problems as necessary to maintain network performance to meets user demands;
Conduct control, evaluation and documentation of practices used to secure UNRA’s network;
Design and implement infrastructure solutions that adhere to current IT architecture and standards;
Ensure that installations are completed within time, cost and quality requirements so as to minimize operational and project risk;
Ensure that the testing and handover of implemented solutions are conducted as per organisational standards hence reducing the risk and adverse impact of change;
Quickly respond to audit reports and implement agreed recommendations within specified time frames;
Develop risk matrix and put in place risk mitigation measures in the network and hardware services at UNRA;
Participate in planning, budgeting and reporting in line with departmental guidelines and targets.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager Hardware and Networks


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant for the UNRA ICT Officer – Hardware and Networks should hold an Honors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Communication Technology or any other relevant courses from a recognized University.
IT Certifications i.e. CCNA, CCNP, A+, Network is an added advantage.
At least three years’ experience in the installation and maintenance of hardware and network services in a large organization.
Excellent interpersonal skills , particularly in staff/management relations,

Job Summary: The Drainage Engineer will actively participate in the execution of hydrological and hydraulic studies for drainage catchments including determination of catchment areas and rainfall intensities; calculation of catchment run offs and discharge characteristics for bridges and drainage structures. Several Enforcement Officer – Kampala – Uganda National Roads Authority

Job Summary: The Enforcement Officer (Road Reserve & Vehicle Load) will be tasked with preventing encroachment on the road reserves and vandalism of road furniture (Road signs, guard rails, cat eyes, and marker posts). The job holder will be responsible for issuing vacation notices and demolition of fully compensated properties or illegal structures in the road reserve. The Officer will also be responsible for routine and rapid response patrols on the road network to clear encroachers. In addition the Officer will carry out community sensitisation on protecting the road reserve and road furniture. Furthermore, the Officer will be responsible for enforcing compliance with vehicle load regulations. This will involve patrolling the road network to apprehend the overloaded trucks that dodge the weighbridges, overloaded trucks not impounded at weighbridges and trucks that offload at weighbridges and reload after the weighbridge. The officer will also conduct impromptu checks on weighbridges to check on compliance with procedures and guidelines.

Design and implement processes and systems for protecting the road reserves in line with departmental guidelines and standards;
Carry out inspection of the installation of approved billboards and demolish illegal ones in line with departmental guidelines;

Job Summary:  The Laboratory

Assistant will carry out laboratory tests to identify disease causes and

provide accurate information for diagnosis and treatment of clients.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare laboratory reagents and patients for

    collecting specimen including providing patient Identification  Numbers, labeling specimen containers

    and collecting correct specimen in line with Good Laboratory Clinical

    Practice (GLCP).

  • Establishing rejection and acceptance

    criteria for laboratory tests.

  • Carrying out routine lab tests, correctly

  • Routinely implement safety procedures and

About Placement Organization


Save the Mothers (STM) is an international organization operating in Uganda, but registered in the US, Canada and East Africa. Its vision is that “no mother or her child should die of pregnancy complications.” STM is a non-governmental organization equipping professionals in developing countries—who work in a wide array of disciplines—to improve the health of mothers and babies. Multidisciplinary professionals are trained through the Master of Public Health Leadership Program, which is hosted by Save the Mothers at the Uganda Christian University. Position Overview


The Fundraising and Development Coordinator will be based in Mukono and committed to improving maternal child health in a global community where mothers and babies continue to die from preventable diseases. S/he will have a vital role in helping to ensure that resources are available to make that a reality and will contribute to fundraising and grant writing with a focus on sources that are primarily from the East African context (and hence more sustainable and regional). This funding will support the leadership training of multidisciplinary East African professionals (through a Master of Public Health Leadership program) and clinical outreach activities (such as the Mother Baby Hospital Friendly Initiative) of Save the Mothers.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy and plan, in line with the strategic objectives of the organization

Position Overview


The Partnership Development Officer will be based in Kampala and will fill an important role within the organization by working with senior management to increase and diversify AMS’ funding sources and strategic partnerships. This position is important in enabling and supporting the clinic’s continued growth and provision of top quality care.


The Partnership Development Officer will work with leadership to continue developing and implementing a robust and comprehensive resource mobilization plan. This will include: building and strengthening partnerships with a wide variety of local and international organizations; and increasing the diversity of funding sources, including identifying new funding opportunities with governments, multilateral agencies, local and international public and private donors and foundations, and developing online fundraisers.


Responsibilities


  • Lead the continued development and implementation of a robust and comprehensive resource mobilization plan for AMS that prioritizes funding sustainability and diversification

  • Work with AMS senior management to identify new funders at the local, national, regional, and international level

  • Develop and submit written proposals to support AMS’ general budget and individual programs (e.g. nutrition support and organic gardening program, EMTCT, and youth programs etc.)

  • Develop and manage AMS’ online fundraisers

  • Identify new partnerships and strengthen existing partnerships to enhance AMS’ ability to offer a comprehensive range of patient services (including income generation groups, nutrition support and organic gardening program, and youth programs etc.)

  • Assist with donor reporting and build the capacity of AMS staff in this area

  • Work with the Communication and Knowledge Management Officer to strengthen fundraising efforts

Fellowship Logistics


During the fellowship year, all fellows are provided with:


  • A living stipend of $550/month

Living and Working in Uganda: Fellows are provided with housing and utilities during the fellowship year.   • The incumbent will develop monthly tracking

    tool to facilitate tracking of BMZ compliance in respect to budget

  • The incumbent will reconcile the finance and

    grants modules and ensure that all Project Outlines are linked to the

    grant.

  • Carry out 100% expenditure verification of

Job Summary: The Surveyor will be responsible for the

execution of topographic surveys, digital mapping, data processing and

analysis. The incumbent will also be responsible for


quality

control of data collection, setting out and verification of construction works.

In addition, the Surveyor will be responsible for quality assurance of the survey

process as well as survey records and reports.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare survey guidelines, procedures and

    quality assurance processes in line with standards and best practice;

  • Conduct topographic, hydrographic and

    cadastral surveys for design purposes and set out road alignment in line

    with the final approved engineering project designs and generate reports;
