Profiles International seeks to

recruit for its valuable Client (Capital Radio Limited) which operates Capital

FM, the top English language station in Uganda, and Beat FM, the number two

Luganda station in Uganda according to Ipsos Synovate. Capital Radio was the

first commercial radio station in East Africa and has maintained a consistent

leadership position since 1994. Capital transmits not only in Kampala, Uganda’s

capital and its environments, it also has stations upcountry in Western and

Eastern Uganda under the Capital FM banner, which are equally popular. Capital

Radio Ltd is an affiliate of Radio Africa Group based in Kenya therefore

presenting a seamless East African footprint for advertisers.


Job Summary: The Human

Resource and Administration Officer will be responsible for providing timely

support in the various human resource and administration functions, which

include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance

monitoring, employee counselling and administration.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • In

    charge of administering payroll and maintaining employees’ records

  • Provide

    advice and assistance when conducting staff performance evaluations

  • Offer

    basic counselling to staff who have performance related obstacles

  • Plan

    and identify training and development opportunities for staff

  • Provide

    professional advice and assistance in developing human resource plans

  • In

    charge of carrying out staff orientations

  • Working

    closely with various departments, play an advisory role of assisting line

    managers to understand and implement human resource policies and

    procedures

  • In

    charge of developing and implementing policies on issues such as working

    conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary

    procedures and absence management

  • Advising

    on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits

  • Dealing

    with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures

  • Responsible

    for developing with line managers particularly HR planning strategies

    which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements

  • Establish

    and maintain appropriate systems that promote security and safety for

    property, staff and visitors at Capital Radio Ltd.

  • Develop

    and implement systems and procedures that facilitate delivery of efficient

    and effective office and administrative services to internal and external

    customers.

  • Provide

    assistance to both management and staff on all matters pertaining to

    welfare and employee relations including terms and conditions of service.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    applicants should hold Bachelor’s Degrees in Human Resource Management or

    Business Administration and/ or a related field. Possession of a post

    graduate diploma/ Masters in Human Resource Management and/ or Masters in

    Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage.

  • A minimum

    of five years working experience in a similar working environment

  • Skills

    in Human resources management and administration

  • Skills

    and working knowledge in performance review and evaluation

  • Staff

    training, development and recognition skills

  • Good

    knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and

    procedures

  • Basic

    counselling, supervisory and team building skills

  • Possess

    effective communications skills including: verbal, written and listening

    skills

  • Effective

    public relations and interpersonal skills


Age: Between 30 to 40

years.
