Leonard Cheshire Disability works to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and campaigns for the removal of barriers that hinder them. We work internationally in over 50 countries throughout Africa and Asia, supporting thousands of people with disabilities through programmes that focus on inclusive education, livelihoods, advocacy and campaigning, and care and support.


Leonard Cheshire has been awarded a grant from the European Union to deliver a livelihoods project to empower persons with disabilities economically in the post conflict districts of Adjumani and Moyo (Western Nile region) in Uganda, which have been affected by wars as well as acute poverty with a high prevalence of disability as a result of landmines, explosive remnants of war and other war-related injuries including mutilation.


Liaising with Leonard Cheshire’s project partner in Uganda, the Livelihoods Technical (LT) Advisor will provide advisory support to the Uganda livelihoods project through capacity building and technical support. The LT Advisor will represent Leonard Cheshire Disability at regional, national, provincial and district platforms on livelihoods for persons with disability, and engage in strategic livelihoods/economic alliances and networks for the same. They will also provide some technical support to other livelihoods programmes as appropriate.
