The Government of Uganda has

received credit from the World Bank towards implementation of the Competitive

and Enterprise Development Project (CEDP). The project development objective

(PDO) is to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in Uganda through

supporting reforms in priority productive and service sectors geared towards a

better investment climate with particular focus on MSMEs.


The five-year project comprises

of four major components and will be implemented by seven agencies. However,

the overall coordination of the Project will lie with the Private Sector

Foundation Uganda (PSFU) through a Project Coordination Unit (PCU). The Uganda

Registration Services Bureau (URSB) will implement Component 2 of CEDP:

Business Registration and Business licensing reforms that aims at reducing the

burden for businesses in dealing with registration and licenses procedure by

creating an online one-stop-shop for business registration and an e-registry

for business licensing, and by implementing measures aimed to simplifying and

streamlining business registration and business licensing procedures.


Job Summary: The Office Assistant, URSB will mainly ensure that office

operations are well maintained by receiving and distributing communications;

maintaining supplies and equipment; picking-up and delivering items; serving

customers.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Receive mail and files from action officers.

  • Carry and deliver mail and files to action officers

    internally in the Regional Office and to external institutions as

    directed.

  • Prepare and serve tea or coffee URSB staff/official

    meetings.

  • Manage the office cleaning

  • Maintain URSB Regional Office dinning and kitchen clean

    and tidy after each shift.

  • Request and maintain stock of supplies for use in the

    kitchen.

  • Keep kitchen equipment in safe custody. 



Key Performance Indicators:

  • Files and mail delivered in right destinations.

  • Office equipment Office cleaning supervised

  • Tea, coffee and snacks served to members of staff.

  • Kitchen cleaned.

  • Windows and glass partitions cleaned.

  • Utensils cleaned.

  • Kitchen rugs washed regularly.

  • Projection of quantities for kitchen supplies prepared. 



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicants should possess relevant ‘O’ or ‘A

    ‘Level Certificate

  • At least three years’ experience in providing indoor

    services in reputable organizations.

  • Attended basic training in Catering or Hotel

    Management is an added advantage.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and cleanliness
