Lutheran World Relief is a US non-profit organization that works with

local partners to provide lasting solutions to poverty, injustice and human

suffering. LWF Uganda works to reduce people’s vulnerability, supporting them

to realize their potential, to build on their assets, and to respond to their

own problems and needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in

Pader, Kitgum, Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts.


Job Summary: The

Livelihood Co-ordinator will provide strategic direction, planning, implementation

and monitoring of the livelihoods program. The incumbent will strengthen and

maintain a project monitoring system, including an effective field reporting

system that will enable measurement of progress at output and outcome levels.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture,

    Community Development, Natural Resource Management or closely related

    discipline. Possession of a Master’s level degree in Agriculture,

    Community Development, Natural Resource Management or closely related

    discipline is desired

  • A

    minimum of three years practical experience preferably with an

    international development organization managing agricultural / livelihoods

    projects under complex operating environments

  • Prior

    training/experience in vocational training, SME development, nutrition,

    community microfinance methodologies and emergency planning is highly

    desired

  • Proven

    practical project management experience covering all aspects of the

    project cycle from design through to evaluation.

  • Good

    knowledge and understanding of the household livelihood security framework

  • Excellent

    analytical skills and fluent writing skills.

  • Significant

    experience in proposal

    writing, log-frame development and donor reporting.

  • Excellent

    IT skills including strong knowledge of MS Word applications

  • Excellent

    communications, interpersonal and training skills and track record of

    building/developing cohesive teams

  • Past

    experience of HIV and gender mainstreaming is an added advantage

  • Working

    experience in cash transfers is also an added advantage
