Uganda Law

Society (ULS) is a body corporate established by the Uganda Law Society Act Cap

276. It is the representative body of the legal profession in Uganda and its

mission is to improve the professional standards of members of the Legal

Profession, to promote Human Rights and the Rule of Law in Uganda by assisting

the Government and the Judiciary in the administration of justice.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Work in close collaboration with the Project

coordinator and project staff to establish a reliable participatory M&E

framework


·        
Manage the systematic and continuous data collection

and analysis on the progress of activities over time and monitor results in

terms of timeliness, quality and accuracy in line with the logical framework

approaches (LFAs) best practice and project documents


·        
Design, implement, improve and maintain workable and

comprehensive M&E tools for monitoring program activities within the

program area


·        
Render support in the drafting of periodic program

thematic internal and external reports and compile various periodic internal

reports for smooth and timely implementation and accomplishment of planned

project activities


·        
Develop and manage the M&E Database for Pro-

Bono lawyers and clients and be responsible for generating periodic reports


·        
Build the capacity of staff through training,

mentoring and support for effective implementation of the M&E systems,

including for information gathering, follow up and post implementation

monitoring within the Program Area.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree

preferably in Social Sciences, Development Economics or Monitoring and

Evaluation


·        
Possession of a post graduate qualification from

recognized institution is an added advantage


·        
At least five years of progressive responsibility working

in M&E or other donor-funded development programs with particular emphasis

on access to justice programs


·        
Skills in the development of performance management

plans (PMPs) and conducting data quality assessments (DQAs)


·        
Skills in the analysis of both qualitative and

quantitative data


·        
Ability to use online M&E databases to collect

performance indicators


·        
Skills and knowledge of conducting routine

monitoring of data for a donor- funded project


·        
Conducting participatory or impact evaluations


·        
Prior experience writing findings and

recommendations in assessment or evaluation reports


·        
Ability to coordinate with technical staff to

collect, verify and analyze data


·        
Excellent organizational, writing, and

communications skills


·        
Strong proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel,

Outlook, Power Point)


·        
Ability to coordinate well with personnel within and

outside the project, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision


·        
Computer literacy skills with ability to analyze and

interpret data using Excel, online reporting tools, or statistical packages

such as SAS, SPSS, or STATA


·        
Proven skills in strategic analysis, M&E, data

collection and analysis, identifying trends in data, and the ability to write

convincing findings and recommendations.
