organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict,

epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from health care.


Job Summary: The Mental

Health Counsellors will provide psychosocial counselling and support for

clients with mental health and psycho-social related disorders/problems in the

project areas of Kasese following standard MSF and MoH approved protocols.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Work closely with the community mobilization team,

(and if needed), implement education on the prevention of mental health &

psychosocial problems and basic support to target/ groups (adolescents)           


·        
The incumbent will also review patients to identify their

needs for mental health or psychosocial support using standard MoH/MSF  protocols and tools  


·        
Offer timely psychosocial support (psychological

first aid) to people with mental health and psychosocial needs in the

community, following standard MoH/MSF tools    


·        
Implement home visits where allowed and feasible to

ensure follow up of defaulting patients


·        
Where needed and possible, assist the activity

manager in organizing community support activities


·        
Implement accurate monthly data compilation fog the

mental health activities


·        
Be respectful of all patient and keep all patient’s

private related information confidential


·        
Attend applicable meetings and/or trainings


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The applicant should preferably hold Degrees/Diplomas

in psycho-social or related field


·        
At least one year of psycho-social counselling

experience


·        
Commitment Flexibility, Results, Teamwork


·        
Mission language (English) is a must and the local

language skills (Swahili, Lukonjo) a definite advantage but not mandatory
