The Equal

Opportunities Commission (EOC) was established by the Equal Opportunities Act

of 2007 and is mandated to provide a framework for redressing imbalances which

exist against the marginalized groups while promoting equal opportunities for

all.


Job Summary: The Commissioner

Compliance and Reporting will ensure compliance to national laws, policies and

regulations; and regional and international obligations on equal opportunities by

Public and Private Entities.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Oversees the development and implementation of the

compliance training plan.


·        
Works with the team to develop and disseminate

compliance objectives and periodic reports on achievements.


·        
Manages the establishment/development and

dissemination of reporting procedures and reporting models to entities.


·        
Coordinates the periodic conduct of impromptu

surveys, inspections and investigations to assess adherence to national laws,

policy and regulations; and regional and international obligations and

protocols.


·        
The incumbent manages the evaluation exercises to

identify areas of deficiency in compliance with equal opportunities and affirmative

action.


·        
Works closely with the team to ensure identification

of priority areas for compliance surveillance and monitoring.


·        
Ensures that international organizations are appraised

of progress on set milestones on equity. Enforces recommendations and

regulations that promote equal opportunities and affirmative action.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s

Degree in Economics or Social Sciences or Social Administration and Social Work

or Statistics or Business Administration. Masters in Economics Or Public Administration Or Business Administration

Or Project Planning and Management. Post graduate qualification in

Administration or Management


·        
At least nine years’ experience in a reputable

organization, three (3) of which must have been at Assistant Commissioner level

or its equivalent.


·        
Good planning, organizing and coordinating skills

Knowledge and understanding of policy management;


·        
Good public relations skills


·        
Good leadership skills


·        
ICT skills


·        
Concern for quality and standards;


·        
Good communication skills


·        
Assertiveness and self confidence


·        
Accountability


·        
Excellent analytical skills
