Hopkins University/Center for Communication Programs (CCP) is a pioneer in the

field of strategic, research based communication for behavior change and health

promotion that has helped transform the theory and practice of public health.


Job Summary: The Project

Manager will manage Trachoma prevention communication managed by the Center for

Communication Programs for the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust Trachoma

Project administered through the Carter Center.  The Project Manager will support The Trust and

its various partners in Uganda with the development, and management of Trachoma

communication campaigns in Busoga and Karamoja regions as well as the revision,

update and dissemination of the National Sanitation Guidelines and the School

Sanitation Guidelines.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Manage inventory trachoma and water, sanitation and

hygiene communication materials


·        
The incumbent will manage the development or

adaptation of Trachoma prevention communication materials to support

multi-channel communication campaigns in Busoga and Karamoja regions.


·        
Orient WASH and Trachoma partners in the use of

communication materials


·        
Monitor campaign media and activities


·        
Provide technical input to development and

dissemination of revised sanitation guidelines


·        
Manage project budget, ensuring funds are spent in

line with budget


·        
Prepare quarterly, annual and end of project reports


·        
Prepare and monitor annual workplans, and

participate in quarterly review and planning meetings.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The ideal candidate should be Ugandan resident who

holds a master’s degree in public health, communication, or related field;


·        
A minimum of five years’ experience designing and

implementing health communication in Uganda. 


·        
Working knowledge of Trachoma is an added advantage


·        
Excellent English writing skills. 


·        
Fluent in written and spoken English plus Lusoga

and/or Karamajong;
