Brookside

Limited is a subsidiary of Brookside Africa Limited, a dairy processing company

in Kenya, the largest economy in the East African Community. Brookside Dairies

was established in 1993 by members of the Jomo Kenyatta Family, including his

son Uhuru Kenyatta, who was elected President of Kenya in 2013. In 2009, the

Gulf-area-based private equity firm Abraaj Capital paid US$18.7 million for 10

percent shareholding in the business. In 2014, French yoghurt maker Danone paid

an undisclosed sum to acquire a 40 percent stake in Brookside. Beginning in

2013, Brookside has expanded by buying stakes in rival milk processing plants

in Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Uganda. In Uganda, they partly own a

subsidiary, Sameer Agriculture and Livestock Limited.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Production Supervisor will be responsible
  
  for production planning to ensure daily production targets are achieved


• Ensure proper utilization of available
  
  resources


• Ensure acceptable level of hygiene in
  
  production area through proper housekeeping


• The jobholder will coordinate quality circle
  
  meetings for the section


• In charge of reconciliation of packaging
  
  materials and milk stocks


• Provide leadership and solutions to staff
  
  issues


• Identify performance gaps of staff and
  
  suggest appropriate training requirements


• Ensure continual improvements


• Update and maintain records in accordance
  
  with Quality Management System


• Ensure that KPI’s are maintained at set
  
  levels

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

• The candidates for the Brookside Production
  
  Supervisor career jobs should hold Diplomas in Food Science or Dairy
  
  Technology. Degree holders will have an added advantage


• Broad working knowledge of ISO, HACCP, OHS
  
  & EMS requirements


• At least three years’ experience in a dairy
  
  or beverage sector


• The applicant must be a team leader


• Possess good decision making skills


• Excellent analytical skills


• Ability to supervise staff
