Feasibility studies & Project Proposal Preparation, Human Resource, Risk
Management and Information System Solutions. We have operations in Uganda,
Rwanda and Dubai. KSK would like to recruit for a valuable client.
Job Summary: The Finance and Administrative Assistant will
provide support in the establishment of financial systems and controls to
ensure the efficiency, integrity and transparency of the office in accordance
with company guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial systems and controls to
ensure the efficiency, integrity and transparency of the office in
accordance with accepted accounting standards; - Ensure all accounting records and supporting
documentation for all financial transactions are maintained in a
systematic order and in a safe and secure condition under the custody of
the organisation; - Provide management with complete, accurate
and timely financial reports, in the required formats; - Maintain accurate and effective financial
controls on all transactions incurred by the sand mine; - Maintain effective control over cash and bank
(ensure that cash in hand and bank reconcile with accounting records; - Prepare and submit financial reports to the
general manager as per agreed frequency; - Ensure the effective and efficient working of
budgetary, accounting, reporting and internal control systems with respect
to the mine operations; - Maintain accurate records for stock;
- Work closely with external auditors,
government departments, banks regularly.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Finance and
Administrative Assistant job opportunity should preferably hold a Diploma
in a finance related field from a recognized institution; - Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education
(UACE); - A minimum of two years’ relevant work
experience - Basic accounting and book keeping skills
- Good secretarial skills, including advanced
abilities in word-processing, spreadsheets, filing, and general computer
use; knowledge of MS Excel, Word and other common software programs is
essential - Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills; strong writing skills are essential - Proven ability to perform typing/word
processing duties; knowledge of written communication formats and
composition of such communications is crucial - Working knowledge of general office practices
and procedures particularly in filing, gathering and compiling information - The applicant should have the ability to
consistently do multiple requests in a timely fashion; ability to be
creative in finding solutions to challenges - Demonstrated ability to work independently
and with minimal supervision - Fluency of the local languages within the
supported districts is desirable.
