Job Summary: The Operations Executive will be tasked with managing

all activities related to mine production in a modern dredger sand mining

operation. The incumbent will plan and direct the activities of assigned

employees to ensure compliance with Company Policy and government regulations.

The Operations Executive will also take on business development initiatives

ensure that target sales are achieved.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Ensure the safety of the mine environment by
  
  maintaining compliance with Company Policy and government regulations.
  
  (e.g., check for adequacy of safety equipment & procedures, equipment
  
  breakdowns, and general observations of employees);


• Maintain knowledge of the Company’s safety
  
  and health policies and manage to eliminate or minimize incidents;


• The jobholder will schedule shifts and hours
  
  of operation to meet production requirements; direct supervisors relative
  
  to shift operations;


• Understand customer’s quality requirement
  
  process and be responsible for customer satisfaction whilst working in a
  
  competitive team and adhering to customer protocols;


• Manage within budget and control costs on a
  
  day to day basis to ensure compliance;


• Maintain mining continuity by establishing a
  
  mine plan and supporting policies and procedures;


• Work closely with the community to ensure
  
  safety and good relations;


• Focus on long term mining operation and
  
  stability;


• Lead the sand mine in labor and employee
  
  relations;


• Ensure that all employees receive the
  
  required training for their assignments.


• Oversee business development and ensure set
  
  targets are achieved;


• Support and participate in the safety
  
  proactive program within the sand mine;


• Keenly review Job Safety Analysis and create
  
  or update as required;


• Remain flexible and take on other duties as
  
  assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

• The Operations Executive should possess a Mechanical
  
  Engineering background;


• The applicant should ideally hold a High
  
  School Diploma;


• Progressive mine supervisory or engineering
  
  experience;


• Three years of supervisory experience
  
  preferably in/or a related manufacturing business environment.


• Knowledgeable of sand mining practices;


• Knowledgeable local Mining Laws;


• Broad working knowledge about mine operations
  
  (ventilation, ground control, blasting and equipment operation) or any
  
  related business;


• Excellent oral and written communication skills
  


• High degree of integrity;


• Good problem solving skills


• Good innovation skills;


• Ability to adapt to new situations and needs;


• Ability to lead employees at different
  
  levels;


• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).


• Age: Above 35 years
