Program Manager Central Non-profit Careers - Educate!



Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Educate!

is a fast growing international non-profit social enterprise that seeks to

transform education in Africa through teaching youth the skills to solve

poverty.  Educate! is backed by top

funders such as The MasterCard Foundation, Echidna Giving, Segal, Vitol, Planet

Wheeler, and Halloran Philanthropies, is a winner of the 2015 WISE Awards for

education, and featured by Brookings Institution and the Clinton Global

Initiative .


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Spearheading School Partnerships and Regional Expansion – Steer

    the planning for regional expansion in Central, East, south or West

    (dependent on funding). Oversee expansion efforts, set school recruitment

    targets, and advise on cross-departmental activities related to regional

    expansion.

  • Performance Management – Manage a team of 9 program officers

    as they implement the Educate! Experience program in districts across

    Central Uganda.

  • Financial Management – Manage three (3) budgets, and lead

    the program Beyonic audits and BVA explaining all discrepancies.

  • Managing Program Procedures – Manage all updates to program

    procedures and handbooks for staff. Lead annual retreats to review

    procedures within the regional programs department.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 


  • The ideal candidate for this vacancy should

    hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.

  • At least four years of professional

    experience

  • Prior experience in managing a team of 5+

    people

  • Knowledge of Ugandan education system

    preferred

  • Possess skills in personnel management,

    program management, & financial management

  • Excellent writing and communication skills
