Organizational Profile:
Cheshire Services Uganda is a nongovernmental organization working the field of disability and development. CSU works with and for Persons with Disabilities through four thematic programme areas of Livelihoods, Inclusive Education, Advocacy and campaign, health and rehabilitation. CSU in collaboration with Leonard Cheshire Disability has received funding from the European Union to implement a three year livelihoods project for Persons with Disabilities in Adjuman and Moyo districts. CSU therefore wishes to recruit a highly qualified and self-motivated team to deliver the project.
Job purpose:
Under the supervision of the Accountant, the driver will offer transport services to the project.
Key Tasks
· Ensure provision of reliable and secure driving services to the project at all times/
· Maintenance of daily vehicle logs
· Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely car services, car washing etc.
· Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle longs, office directory, and map of the city/country, first aid kit, car alarm and necessary spare parts.
· Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.
· And any other duties that may be assigned from time to time in the interest of the organization.
Requirements:
· Minimum qualification of Uganda Certificate of Education
· Valid Ugandan driving licence with classes
· Ability to work with persons with disabilities
· At least 5 years driving experience and good knowledge of the regions and the country
· Be reliable, punctual, self-motivated, a great attitude and good work ethics.
