WEI/Bantwana Initiative is a

Non-Governmental Organization that helps families and children orphaned and

made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS to access the comprehensive support and care they need

to grow into healthy adults.


The Bantwana Initiative of World

Education is implementing the USAID’s Better Outcomes for Children and Youth in

Eastern and Northern Uganda program—a $24.5 million program with a large sub

grant component. The Program is being implemented across 13 districts in

Eastern and Northern Uganda. Better Outcomes works with families, communities,

Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Local Government and the private sector to

address the long-term, comprehensive needs of vulnerable children and families

through improved OVC service delivery.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Provide

management and technical oversight to regional team the North team


·        
Steer

and oversee the planning and implementation of program activities with program

team and partners


·        
Ensure

technical oversight and achievement of program goals and targets


·        
The

incumbent will support the technical team to provide support supervision to

partners and local government


·        
Build

and strengthen productive relationships with local government and other key

stakeholders in the North


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The

ideal candidate for the USAID OVC Project career placement should hold a

relevant Bachelor’s degree


·        
Five

or more years program management in OVC sector or related field. Demonstrated

leadership, organizational, and management experience


·        
Past

exposure and experience working on large-scale USAID or other donor- funded

projects


·        
Knowledge

of Northern Uganda implementing environment


·        
Fluency

in local languages in the North highly desirable
