Job Summary
Ensure and supervise the planning and execution of quality assurance activities for EMTS’s IT function.
Assist in the definition of the unit’s strategy, plans, policies, projectsand service levels.
Keep abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to the unit’s activities.
Assist in continuously reviewing the unit’s activities, make recommendations for improvement and implement approved initiatives to ensure enhanced performance of the team.
Assist in identifying required resources, personnel and funding to achieve the unit/ function’s strategy.
Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Compile reports regarding performance of all EMTS’s IT functions against approved indicators and present to the Senior Manager, IT Governance and Quality as required.
Liaise with EMTS staff to ensure that established IT Quality Assurance systems are effective. Where appropriate, liaise with the Manager, IT Service Management to advice on changes and provide staff with training, tools and techniques.
Ensure prompt Quality Assurance review of ongoing IT projects.
Evaluate IT Quality Assurance status on a regular basis and recommend suitable best practice solutions to the Senior Manager, IT Governance and Quality as required.
Ensure prompt, frequent and appropriate update of QA review work programs/checklists for the various processes and activities within the IT function.
Ensure that all testing activities are consistent with the defined quality management approach.
Ensure that any risks associated with the agreed test strategy and the system test plan are clearly documented and described to end-users.
Assist in implementing the function’s work programs and plans in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.
Assist in planning and managing the human and material resources of the unit to optimise performance, morale and enhance productivity.
Manage inter-functional relations to ensure synergy across the various departmental functions.
Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinates’ performance towards the achievement of overall team objectives.
Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Senior Manager, IT Governance and Quality.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, IT Governance and Quality.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience.
