Job Summary:  The

Manager Management Information and Analytics will mainly consolidate and keenly

analyse all streams of internal and external data, in order to provide market,

business, segment, portfolio, customer and product reports, insights and

recommendations to enable Stanbic Bank achieve its goals.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


1. Management Information

Strategy and Business Planning:

  • Actively

    contribute to the development of the long term Management Information road

    map

  • Support

    the budgeting process by providing aggregated past performance data and

    forecasts of future performance


2. Management Information

Reports Management:

  • Build

    models and tools for assessing the balance sheet, income statement and

    risk impact under a variety of conditions of existing and proposed

    products and segments, identifies potential challenges and forecasts

    performance in order to allow for optimization of resources

  • Measure,

    analyze and report Personal and Business Banking performance against

    strategic and operational goals, budgets, key risk indicators and risk

    appetite at business, segment, portfolio, customer and product level and recommends

    actions to improve performance

  • In

    charge of completing on-going trend analysis, produce forecasts and

    recommendations for change/improvements to business systems and processes

  • Actively

    monitor and report trends in the market, product, segments and portfolio

    performance and recommend appropriate action

  • Routinely

    monitor new products and segments performance against business cases

  • Manage

    ad-hoc report requests and data enquiries from various areas of the

    business

  • Steer

    the improvement of the Management Information solutions

  • Regularly

    review and resolve Management Information issues logged in a timely manner

    and as required include third parties


4. Relationship Management: Work closely with individuals in various

areas of the business to understand and document their requirements

  • Provide

    required resources, systems and processes to support the achievement of

    work goals

  • Agree

    performance contracts, monitor performance, review and appraise direct

    reports in order to maintain performance at required levels

  • Arrange

    for training for direct reports in line with personal development and

    talent development plans

  • Identify

    key talent and manage succession planning

  • Oversee

    the handover process in accordance with laid down procedure

  • Manage

    the on-boarding and probation process for new and existing employees

  • In

    charge of planning the utilization of leave for direct reports while

    maintaining quality customer service

  • Participate

    in the recruitment processes for roles within the team

  • Coach

    and supervise direct reports on the bank processes and procedures


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank placement should hold a Bachelor

    degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Information Management,

    Information Science, Economics or related field

  • Professional

    Certifications: SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase) BI Platforms

    (BOBJ, Cognos, Business Objects, QlikView) SAS

  • Relevant

    postgraduate qualification is an added advantage

  • At

    least five years’ experience in Retail Banking, Assets and Liabilities

    analytics with significant exposure to Retail markets and product lines

  • A

    minimum of two years’ experience in leading teams.

  • Detailed

    knowledge and understanding of Retail Banking business and financial

    services industry.

  • Working

    knowledge of the bank’s lending products and how their performance is

    measured.

  • Working

    knowledge of Retail Banking operations including bank systems, processes,

    and procedures.

  • Working

    knowledge of Retail Banking risk measurement, modelling and management

  • Statistical

    and analytical skills and knowledge of research methodologies and

    techniques
