Makerere University is the

oldest and premier University in Uganda which strives to becoming the leading

institution for academic excellence and innovations in Africa. It received

funding from The MasterCard Foundation to support scholars from disadvantaged

backgrounds.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • The

    Project Communication and Web Officer will offer support on Communication

    and Research.

  • The

    incumbent will act as Reference and Public Relations Officer for the

    Project with Stakeholders.

  • Responsible

    for the production, documentation and dissemination of the Scholars

    directory, other Publications and Marketing of the project.

  • Manage  the design, update and maintenance of

    the website, MCF database & provision of ICT services

  • Compile

    Profiles of the Scholars and Alumni and follow up for updates and

    continuous engagement such as giving back.

  • The

    incumbent will oversee the provision of ICT support to MCF Scholars

  • Perform

    any other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    ideal candidate should preferably hold a master’s degree in any discipline

    from a recognized University Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication.

  • At

    least three years’ experience in communication and research.

  • The

    incumbent should be highly proficient in Mass Communication with a major

    in print media

  • Prior

    experience in journalism and managing events

  • Excellent

    ICT skills especially in Microsoft and Web Applications

  • Excellent

    interpersonal and communications skills

  • Possess

    the ability to build and manage effective working relationships with

    internal and external stakeholders
