Tropical Bank
Limited was established in 1973 under the name Libyan Arab Uganda Bank for
Foreign Trade and Development. Tropical Bank Limited is jointly owned by the
Governments of the Republic of Uganda 0.03% and the Libyan Foreign Bank (LFB)
99.97% of Paid-up Capital. The Bank
provides professional and personalized commercial banking services to various
sectors of the economy including financial support to Parastatals, Corporates,
Small and Medium Enterprises, Individuals, and Non-Governmental Organisations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
The incumbent will be routinely examining bank
activities, records, procedures and processes to ensure bank objectives are
achieved.
·
Take part in the preparation of annual work plan
·
Ensure audit programs are up to date and in line
with the project risk assessment before commencement of fieldwork.
·
Participate in the preparation of the quarterly
board papers.
·
Regularly assess and evaluate the risks and ensure
appropriate internal controls are in place.
·
Follow up on Bank of Uganda, external audit and
internal audit recommendations and ensure they are fully implemented.
·
Carry out periodic reviews of all functional and
operational audits stipulated in the annual audit plan and report findings.
·
The incumbent will provide practical recommendations
so as to curb any bank control weakness.
·
Regularly review exceptions noted in the bank of
Uganda returns and discuss with relevant senior managers.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The Tropical Bank Senior Internal Auditor should
preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, accounting, Business
Administration, Quantitative Economics, Statistics and any other related
business course
·
Part 3 ACCA, CIA or CPA. Possession of CISA is an
added advantage
·
A minimum of five years’ experience in internal
audit or external audit
·
Membership of IIA Uganda is an added advantage
·
IT knowledge and T24/Globus familiarity is an added
advantage.
·
Excellent analytical skills
·
Good communication skills
·
Excellent interpersonal skills
