I-Train and

Evaluate Center (i-TEC) is the first locally female-owned firm of its kind in

Africa, established in 2008 to provide a range of services in specialized

program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) that include the following:

Evaluations (Mid-term, Final and Impact), Design of M&E Systems, Performance

assessments and Results Mapping; Capacity Building (Including Trainings in M&E),

Data Quality Assessments; Organizational Capacity Assessments (OCAT), to

mention but a few. I-TEC is a fast-paced, innovative environment, where we work

in several African countries in partnership with many different clients such as

USAID, Bill and Melinda 
Gates

Foundation (BMGF), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), UN Women,

UNDP, etc.



Job Summary: The IT

Specialist will provide support and update the i-TEC website with technical materials

when required, provide help desk support to i-TEC staff and also be responsible

for managing the Local Area Network (LAN) and in particular to ensure that the

servers, firewall, email systems, printing; antivirus updates, etc. are all

functional and efficient at all times.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
In charge of trouble-shooting for i-TEC Local Area

Network (LAN) and internet problems, specifically ensure that the i-TEC

servers, firewall, email systems, printing; antivirus updates, daily back-ups,

etc. are all functional and efficient at all times


·        
Responsible for updating of the i-TEC website with

technical materials generated when required


·        
Ensure completeness of data as reported from the

field


·        
Provide technical support to the design of M&E

automated data systems for i-TEC clients


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The IT Specialist should hold a University degree in

Computer Science from a reputable institution


·        
Prior exposure and experience in database and

website development and management, and general systems administration.


·        
The ideal candidates should hold professional certifications

e.g. Oracle Certified Associate/Professional (OCS or OCP), Microsoft Certified

Database Administrator (MCDBA) preferred (certificates will be verified).


·        
Detailed working knowledge and experience in website

design and development, modification and management,


·        
Past exposure and experience in managing LAN in an

organization with primary and secondary domain controllers, Linux systems and

complex settings with at least 6 workstations


·        
Detailed understanding of best practices in systems

security and administration,


·        
Possess the ability to work as an integral part of a

professional team, set priorities and handle a large volume of activities as

and when required.


·        
Excellent organizational, oral and written

communication in English and interpersonal skills


·        
Working knowledge and experience in designing, developing,

using, maintaining and managing web-based database applications backed by

server-based relational database systems, e.g. MS SQL server, PostgreSQL,

Oracle.
