Finance Clerk – Action Against Hunger



About ACF:
Action Against Hunger (ACF) is an international, non-governmental, non-religious organization that was created in Paris in 1979 with headquarters in France (Paris), the USA (New York), the UK (London), Spain (Madrid) and Canada (Toronto). Recognized as a leader in the fight against malnutrition, Action Against Hunger / ACF International saves the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable to hunger. With more than 30 years of expertise in emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster, and chronic food insecurity, ACF runs life-saving programs in some 40 benefiting five million people each year. Since 1980, ACF has provided assistance to vulnerable populations in Uganda. These have included the displaced and returnee populations of LRA-affected Northern Uganda, Sudanese and Congolese refugees fleeing fighting in their own countries, and the people of the north eastern Karamoja region.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Cash Management:
· The incumbent will manage all cash payments
· Verify and intuitively check payment documents for accuracy and completeness.
· Register all cash payments in the cash register
· Posting of cash transaction using both excel and the organization accounting software Saga.
· In charge of the timely submission of monthly accountancy to Asst. Finance
· Maintain and retrieve financial records
· Responsible for filing of all of the financial documents per the filling procedures
· Receive and review field accountancy documents
· Ensure all vouchers are scanned and archived monthly per location and Saga book
· Retrieve any financial document on request;
2. Miscellaneous:
· The incumbent will perform basic roles of the Assistant Finance Co when she is absent.
· Provide technical support on Finance and related issues
· Provide Human Resources administrative support.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The applicant should preferably hold a Diploma in Finance or related field.
