Sasakawa Africa

Association (SAA/SG2000) is an international non-profit organization that

promotes demonstration and widespread adoption of improved pre and

post-production agricultural technologies for smallholder farmers in Uganda in

collaboration with relevant government institutions, farmers’ organizations and

the private sector.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Provide technical support in developing and

implementing a country-specific extension program to promote and improve

post-harvest management and develop agro-processing enterprises;


·        
Analyze the economic and technical feasibility of

post-production technologies to be promoted and develop training manuals,

operation guides for the technologies;


·        
Actively promote labor and time-saving technologies

that reduce losses and generate income;


·        
Develop and implement training programs for farmers/

agro-processors, machine fabricators and service providers on fabrication, use

and management of improved technologies;


·        
The incumbent will work in liaison with other theme

staff and partners from other organizations on technology selection and

demonstrations;


·        
Perform any other related duties as directed by the

supervisors.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The applicant

should preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology,

Postharvest management or in any other related field.
