Mbarara

University of Science & Technology (MUST), commonly known as Mbarara

University, is a public university in Uganda. Mbarara University commenced

student intake and instruction in 1989. It is one of the eight public

universities and degree-awarding institutions in the country. MUST is

accredited by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
The incumbent will be receiving and reviewing

applications from international/ occasional students/residents/fellows and

visiting lecturers to MUST concerning international placements and rotations


·        
In charge of maintaining and establishing links with

other reputable Universities/Schools in other countries as well as in Uganda

regarding exchange programs


·        
Organize clinical and/or relevant placements and

schedules for visiting students, residents and lecturers


·        
The incumbent will ensure that memoranda of

understanding between Mbarara University of Science and Technology and other

Universities and institutions regarding exchange programs are drawn according

to Mbarara University of Science and Technology guidelines


·        
Work in liaison with the Uganda Medical

Practitioners Council to ensure that the visiting residents and lecturers have

adequate documentations to enable them register and get medical licenses to

practice medicine during their stay in Uganda


·        
Work closely with the Institutional Review Board to

ensure that the visiting students/lecturers interested in carrying out research

in Uganda get adequate approval to collect any data during their placement


·        
Prepare operational budgets for MUST International Programs

and make timely accountabilities as per University regulations


·        
Actively monitor the implementation and proper

documentation of the MUST -International Program
s activities


·        
Perform any other duties as will be directed by the

Vice Chancellor.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The International Relations Officer should hold a Bachelor’s

degree (at least upper 2nd class) in Social Sciences, Officer SWASA, Public

Administration, Management Studies or any other related course


·        
At least five years of relevant experience


·        
Good report writing skills


·        
Computer literacy skills


·        
Keen attention to detail and juggling tasks while

prioritizing


·        
Methodical and thorough approach to work


·        
Excellent organisational skills


·        
Excellent communication skills


·        
Good team player
