Catholic Relief

Services (CRS) will be implementing Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth

in Central and Western Uganda over the next five years. The Project will

improve the health, nutrition, education and psychosocial well-being of

vulnerable populations, as well as reduce abuse, exploitation and neglect to a

minimum of 625,000 children and 101,500 households in 17 districts in central

and western Uganda.  The Project is being

implemented by a consortium of partner consisting of CRS being the lead,

Futures Group, ANPPCAN and TPO.


Job Summary: The Public

Private Partnerships (P3) specialist will be part of the Sustainable Outcomes

Program team that will drive Sustainable Outcomes Program’s corporate approach

to private sector partnerships. He/she will support CRS’s Cross Sector

Engagement (CSE) Agenda with private partners, foundations, institutions and

public entities including Government programs. The job holder will be required to

work with a productive and collaborative approach, with colleagues at all

levels and across the consortium with implementing partners. The P3 Specialist

will be supporting the implementation of Sustainable Outcomes Program framework

for entering into private partnerships that benefit project beneficiaries. This

includes implementing the legal and due diligence framework which will

establish the Sustainable Outcomes Program’s foundation for entering private

partnerships in observance of CRS values and those of implementing partners.


The PPP (P3)

Specialist will also represent Sustainable Outcomes Program on public-private

sector issues at technical, policy and strategic planning meetings, including

meetings with collaborators, donors, and civil society.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Work closely with the Sustainable Outcomes Program

SMT and other project staff to identify, design, and develop strategic

partnerships with private and public sector actors to achieve project

objectives;


·        
The incumbent will also identify, assess, and recommend

potential private sector partners and partnership opportunities for key

private, public and civil society organizations;


·        
Actively engage with private sector partners and

stakeholders, serving as principal private sector liaison for the project;


·        
Coordinate conversations, roundtables, and

activities across a number of industry groups, business sectors, and civil

society organizations;


·        
Work in liaison with other donors, local

organizations and the Government of Uganda to ensure harmonization of public-private

partnership activities;


·        
Provide technical leadership for the design,

formalization, and management of innovative public-private partnerships;


·        
Prepare and submit timely and accurate reporting to

Sustainable Outcomes Program SMT for USAID reporting on all partnership project

areas;


·        
Maintain records and databases of business

prospects, contacts, and establish potential partnerships within various

private sectors (private companies, foundations, financial institutions, public

entities):


·        
Map and engage potential partners relevant for

Sustainable Outcomes Program to deliver on its strategic plan


·        
Develop and help execute key partner management plan

for private sector, Conduct analysis of potential fit with private partner from

an organizational view, thematic and geographic orientation and work to

identify of shared projects –


·        
Carry out due diligence processes on selected

companies/ organization – leveraging existing frameworks and practices


·        
Build new partnerships as relevant


·        
Work closely with private sector partners including

monitoring and evaluation of partnership results


·        
Follow up and support field offices in order to

extract benefit from those partnerships in terms of concrete projects and

meaningful impact to beneficiaries.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 


·        
The applicant should preferably hold an advanced

University degree (Master’s degree or equivalent), preferably in Business

Administration, International Relations, Public Administration, or other

related field.


·        
A minimum of seven years of progressively

responsible experience of business development environment, including leading

roles in organizational change projects, sustainability and innovation


·        
Excellent track record in developing and executing

change strategies, plans and initiatives.


·        
Demonstrated success in entrepreneurial /

entrepreneurial activities.


·        
Prior experience with international organizations

and the development sector is an asset.


·        
Previous exposure and experience with Public Private

Partnerships is an asset.


·        
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
