African

Initiatives for Relief and Development (AIRD) is a non-governmental,

non-political, non-religious and non-profit making organization with the main

aim of protecting and seeking durable solutions for Refugees and IDPs in Africa

in partnership with UNHCR the UN refugee agency.


Job Summary: The Programme Officer will oversee and manage AIRD

Programme activities


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Carry an assigned portfolio of priority

    grants in the field.

  • In charge of consulting with the country

    management team regarding specific grants proposals to ensure that the

    proposal meets donor guidelines and /or initiative requirements, and is a

    well- formulated requestRegularly respond to inquiries from donors

    regarding donor funds & guidelines and requests for proposals

  • Actively participate in preparation of

    project Budgets & negotiations with funding organisations.

  • In charge of preparing and analysing Project

    Proposals and sourcing of project funds from donors


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold a

    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or any related courses

  • Possession of a post graduate or Master’s degree

    is an added advantage.

  • At least three to five years of

    post-University experience in nonprofit sector is required.
