Duty Station: Kisubi, Wakiso, Uganda
CoRSU
was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, non-government organization in
Uganda after extensive consultation with various stake holders. It is a Ugandan
initiative which was encouraged and supported by CBM with the main aim of
expanding and improving the rehabilitation services for children and people
with disability.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
- In
charge of the preparation of food e.g. breakfast, lunch and supper for
patients and staff - Checks
all food deliveries and oversees the kitchen store - The
jobholder designs the hospital menu with the nutritionist so that meals
are nutritious. - Order
food supplies, receive and distribute them out to cooks each day. - Fill
stock bin cards to show food flow within the store. - Ensures
the cooks know what to prepare each day. - Organise
rota to make sure there are enough staff on each shift. - Ensure
that each meal is prepared and served on time with as little waste as
possible. - Supervising
other cooks in the cooking/ kitchen area. - Making
sure meal cards are signed or marked daily. - Supervision
of attendants in cleaning utensils. - Responsible
for sorting and peeling - In
charge of cleaning the kitchen before and after food preparation - Assist
the nutrition unit in preparing food for patients - Perform
any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills
and Experience: The
applicant should hold a Diploma in Catering.
