Medecins

Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international independent medical humanitarian

organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict,

epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from health care.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure all TB/HIV Health education and

    adherence counselling activities for patients accessing health services in

    the MSF supported health facilities are being performed as required

  • Support and mentor health facility

    counselling staff so that they should acquire the necessary knowledge and

    skills to give adequate education and effective counselling to the clients

    in need of services

  • Supervise and evaluate the activities

    concerning his/her field of action (Nursing and Midwifery activities

    related to TB/HIV) in collaboration with the in charge of the health

    centre and the rest of the team by supporting the team with the overall

    organization and the functioning of the activities in the health centre.

  • Work closely with the Landing Sites Doctor

    identify and plan the priorities    

    according to MOH values, policies and protocols and universal

    health standards, in order to warrant the quality and continuity of the

    health care and the development of the project action plan.    


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant should hold be a Ugandan who

    holds an Approved Diploma of Comprehensive nurse or Registered Nurse   Midwife) with a Certificate in HIV/AIDS

    Counselling

  • A minimum of two years’ experience of HIV/TB

    related work experience in Government, MSF or other NGOs

  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in

    Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Competencies: Results, teamwork, flexibility,

    commitment, stress management, diplomatic

  • Languages: Local language essential (Lukonjo,

    Lunyankole)
