Limited wishes to recruit for its Client, a leading producer of dairy supplies.


Job Summary: The Technical Manager will be responsible for the development

of maintenance schedules and management of the daily activities of the

technical department to ensure all time availability of calibrated machines and

infrastructure to support the manufacturing department in meeting production

targets and quality standards.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain calibration of all instruments and

    measuring accessories throughout the processes required to monitor CCPs,

    identified PRPs, OPRPs and inventories;

  • The jobholder will maintain good hygiene in

    the utility area and at the work place by ensuring that hygiene principles

    meet the IMS manual guidelines;

  • Work in liaison with stores for spares and

    procurement of fuel, husks and consumables;

  • Work closely with departmental heads for an

    efficient running of the operations and training staff to increase

    understanding of the entire process;

  • In charge of designing maintenance programs

    and scheduled checks on machinery and parts;

  • Ensure that instruments and machines are

    faults free, oiled, cleaned and recalibrated at all times;

  • Overhaul and replace parts as scheduled;

  • Quickly respond to machinery breakdowns at

    all times, assess problems and make decisions in consultation with the

    General Manager;

  • Keenly analyse, generate and present daily,

    weekly, monthly or yearly performance reports as may be required by

    management;

  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of

    safety requirements by law and company policy;

  • Lead the activities of staff in support of

    production of quality products in accordance with work instructions and

    company policies to ensure quality and safe products;

  • Ensure that plant machinery and infrastructure

    are guarded to enhance safety & security and co-ordinate with external

    service providers to ensure the required standards are met during repairs

    and new installations.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate should hold a good

    bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  • A minimum of eight years of practical working

    experience in a food or beverage processing industry.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership

    abilities
