Education, vocational training and entrepreneurship, character, spiritual and

health Development


Job Summary: The Accountant will provide practical, consistent

and proactive support, direction and advice to departmental heads on financial

procedure, policy, best practice, employment rewards, benefits and legislation

to facilitate in achieving the goals and objectives of the Empower a child.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Handle day-to-day accounting functions.

  • Manage cash and banking.

  • In charge of cash flow projections.

  • Prepare annual budgets in Liaison with other

    departments.

  • Maintain updated fixed assets register with

    assets coding

  • Disburse payments and control expenses.

  • Timely returns of statutory returns to the

    concerned authorities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial

    statements and Report to U.S

  • Work closely with the Signatories and

    company’s bankers.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with External

    Auditors for audit

  • Prepare bank reconciliations

  • Collect all receipts, petty cash, and

    vouchers from department heads at the end of the each week, ensure that

    bank accounts and cash at hand reconcile accurately and entered into

    QuickBooks.

  • Attend staff meetings and devotions.

  • Participate in any Empower a Child activities

    when called upon.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

  • The ideal candidate for Empower a Child Accountant

    career opportunity should hold a good university degree in Accounting,

    Finance or a relevant qualification from a recognized institution

  • Applicants that are Certified or Chartered

    Accountant will have an added advantage

  • At least three years of related accounting experience

    preferably in a busy environment.

  • Skills and experience in management and financial

    accounting

  • Previous experience in making tax

    declarations

  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting

    system is a must

  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in

    MS Office applications
