Chemonics International Inc., a leading international development consulting firm that has been implementing USAID programs in Uganda for more than 20 years, seeks experienced professionals for the anticipated USAID-funded Uganda Youth Leadership for Agriculture Activity. This five-year program will increase incomes of youth working in agricultural value chains and strengthen the skills obtained through formal and non-formal education and training. Experience in Uganda is strongly preferred and English fluency is required for all positions.    Master’s degree in Economics, Business, International Development, Public Policy, Education, Agricultural Economics, or related field, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 15 years of relevant experience.    At least 10 years of experience leading and managing an agriculture, private enterprise development, or youth development program of similar scope and scale, in Uganda or a similar development context.    Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage challenging projects involving effective collaboration with public and private sector counterparts and key stakeholders.    Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Business, International Development, Public Policy, Education, or related field, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 12 years of relevant experience.    At least eight years of experience leading and working on agriculture, private enterprise development, or youth development projects with an excellent track record of achieving results in similar activities.Private Sector Partnerships Specialist    Master’s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Business, International Development, Public Policy, Law, or other relevant field, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 10 years of relevant experience.    At least six years of international experience in business or agriculture development. • Excellent track record of achieving results in private sectorled development activities, preferably in agriculture.   Master’s degree in Education, Business, or related field, or a bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience.    At least six years of experience in workforce development or youth activities with an excellent track record of achieving results in similar types of skill development activities.    Demonstrated high level technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.Director of Finance and Administration    Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field, or a bachelor’s degree and accounting professional certification with 10 years of relevant experience.    Eight years of experience in management, finance, accounting, office operations, and developing and managing budgets for large-scale development assistance programs, with relevant IT applications.In addition, we are also seeking specialists in the following areas:·             Monitoring and Evaluation·             Agribusiness and/or market linkages·             Youth entrepreneurship and life skills·             Curriculum development·             Family planning and reproductive healthPlease submit cover letter, resume, and three professional references to:ChemonicsUYLA@gmail.com by January 30, 2015. Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development and food security in order to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society. ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 60 projects in 30 countries and total revenues of $173 million.

Deputy Chief of Party, Uganda

We are currently seeking a Deputy Chief of Party for an anticipated USAID-funded Feed the Future activity in Uganda titled Youth Leadership for Agriculture. This upcoming multi-year USAID-funded program in Uganda will focus on increasing economic opportunities for hundreds of thousands of Ugandan female and male youth ages 10 to 35 in agriculture-related fields in order to increase incomes and build entrepreneurship, leadership, and workforce readiness.

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will work closely with the Chief of Party to manage the day-to-day operations of the activity. The DCOP will provide technical and managerial leadership and will focus on building partnerships with key stakeholders. In the absence of the COP, the DCOP will assume full responsibility for the Activity. The DCOP responsibilities for this program include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

Support the Chief of Party in attaining project goals and objectives by providing technical advice and direction when appropriate as well as administrative oversight.Provide technical leadership on facilitated market systems approach; market-driven technical skills development; and other activities that promote employment opportunities along the value chain for youth.Contribute to the cross-cutting goals of the program.Assist with management of relationships with local organizations, private sector stakeholders and government bodies.Prepare/assist in preparation of periodic written and oral reports to USAID and ACDI/VOCA headquarters.Review of all financial and logistical information on a periodic basisQuality control and timeliness of all deliverablesPreparation contribution to/of work plans, financial, logistical and other documents.Ensure effective contract management, reporting, communications and relationship management with USAID.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in international development, preferably in agriculture, private enterprise development, or youth development.Excellent track record of achieving results in similar activities, demonstrated high level leadership, interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills.Minimum of a Master’s degree in agricultural economics, economics, business, international development, public policy, education, or other relevant field. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 12 years of experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree.Must be professionally proficient and fluent in written and spoken English.How to apply:

Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the anticipated USAID-funded Youth Leadership for Agriculture project in Uganda. The five-year, $21-million project aims to increase incomes of youth working in agricultural commodities and strengthen the skills obtained through formal and nonformal education and training in 38 of Uganda's Feed the Future focus districts. The chief of party will provide overall leadership on the project's management, operations, and performance, including achievement of programmatic results and timely completion of deliverables. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

Provide overall management and leadership of technical, administrative, operational, and logistical direction of the projectServe as primary liaison with USAID on management and technical workFoster and maintain collaborative relationships with Ugandan government officials and senior-level national and county-level government officialsLead coordination with USAID, key stakeholders, and other implementing partnersManage and supervise the work of project personnel and subcontractors

Qualifications:

Master's degree in economics, business, international development, public policy, education, agricultural economics, or related field; or bachelor's degree in a related field with 15 years of relevant experienceMinimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience leading and managing an agriculture, private enterprise development, or youth development program of similar scope and scale, in Uganda or a similar development contextDemonstrated ability to successfully lead and manage challenging projects involving effective collaboration with public and private sector counterparts and key stakeholdersKnowledge of and experience working in Uganda strongly preferredChief of party experience on a USAID project preferredFamiliarity with youth and gender program design and implementation preferredDemonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrityWritten and spoken fluency in English requiredHow to apply:
