FIXED NETWORK MANAGER
Reporting to Network Operations and Maintenance Manager

Duties and responsibilities
• Develop and implement operational guidelines for the team and ensure that they are adhered to. These will include quality control systems and Procedures to minimize downtime and maximize network performance.
• Create an OPEX budget with itemized limits and ensure its optimum and efficient utilization within these limits.
• Contribute to the development of the Technical Strategic Plan in line with the Corporate Strategy.
• Maintain an effective system of
communications throughout the
organization on network performance
related issues and with key customers,
equipment vendors and other contractors
• Manage the deployment of new fixed network technologies and services and ensure proper Network working relationships
• Performance Monitoring, Quality of Service Management and Reporting.
• Co-ordinate the objectives and work plans across all the staff members of the Fixed Network team to ensure strategic plans are met.
• Follow-up with other entities on network problems and ensure they are resolved within agreed KPIs.
• Develop and implement a spare tracking Procedure for the fixed network.
• Handle Performance Management and staff motivation issues appropriately and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
• Prepare and submit training plans and ensure effective training within the agreed timelines.
• Develop and implement a Succession plan.
• Ensure BCM (Business Continuity Management) within the department [Provision of tools and spares enough to run The network

Requirement:

Applicants must have
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering or any other relevant field.
• Postgraduate level in any related field is an added advantage.
• 5 years’ experience, 3 of which need to be in an Engineering Management Position.

The Person

Our client is seeking a science graduate, for a temporary 12 month position as a formulation scientist, situated at the prototyping facility in Sedgefield. You will be used to working to high standards and quick to take on new ideas.

The Role

The role involves working with novel organic materials for application in Organic Thin Film Transistor (OTFT) devices. Duties include thermal analysis (DSC, TGA), solubility and rheological measurements and preparation of OTFT test devices. The position would suit someone with a quality control or analytical background, particularly in the field of polymers/organic materials. No prior experience of OTFT or micro-electronic fabrication is necessary as training will be provided. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to adhere to strict protocols within their hands-on experimental work.

They have a centre where they transfer experimental processes to manufacturable products. It targets barrier coatings, advanced material deposition processes, printable electronic materials, printable circuits for high resolution display and smart packaging applications, solid state lighting and organic photovoltaics.
