Amatheon Agri Uganda is part of

Amatheon Agri, a German agri and food group developing sustainable projects in

Sub-Saharan Africa. Amatheon Agri Uganda is currently developing a new

commercial farming operation in Northern Uganda. Amatheon aims to create

shareholder value and increased food production through the development of new

large scale agriculture operations, the application of state-of-the-art farming

techniques and vertical integration across the agricultural value chain.


Job Summary: The Project

Manager shall perform technical, organizational and supervisory role on

construction projects, setting out and determining the location for the

infrastructural installations.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


1. Technical Responsibilities:

  • Responsible

    for managing, directing and monitoring progress during each phase of a

    project

  • Making

    sure sites meet legal guidelines, and health and safety requirements.

  • Take

    lead in controlling the quality of design information & implementation

    for projects.

  • Solve

    problems and generate solutions in the field for special cases, especially

    retrofits and additions to existing buildings.

  • Render

    support in the revision or development of new structural engineering

    technical resources, including but not limited to structural and

    architectural drawings, bills of quantity, construction checklists


2. Project Management Responsibilities:

  • On

    a project-by-project basis, implement the project work plan as developed

    with the Managing Director.

  • Maintain

    ownership of project milestones and consistent communication with the

    Managing regarding schedule or deliverable challenges.

  • Work

    with project technical staff to ensure their proper and effective

    implementation of the project work plan. Work with the Human Resources

    Manager to resolve any staffing issues if they arise.

  • Works

    closely with CSR department in assessing the environmental impact and

    risks connected to projects

  • Send

    weekly reports on progress


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    candidate should have at least two years’ experience in Civil and Building

    engineering with demonstrated experience in delivering results on time.

  • Prior

    experience in managing several projects of buildings, roads, bridges

    simultaneously.

  • Cost

    estimating, structural design software, and 3D AutoCAD literacy

  • Skill

    set for managing project tasks, including ownership over milestones, work

    plans, reporting, using computer tools such as Excel

  • Highly

    effective, timely and clear professional communication skills, including

    formal and informal oral communication, written communication.

  • Practical

    construction experience in masonry, reinforced concrete, and carpentry and

    construction management is a plus.

  • The

    successful candidate will be flexible, proactive, patient, and have a good

    organizational, planning and people skills ready to work and stay at the

    site locations

  • Possess

    a valid driver’s license
