Mbarara
University of Science & Technology (MUST), commonly known as Mbarara
University, is a public university in Uganda. Mbarara University commenced
student intake and instruction in 1989. It is one of the eight public
universities and degree-awarding institutions in the country. MUST is
accredited by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
The incumbent will collect, analyse, interpret and
disseminate data from Faculties, Institutes and non- teaching units pertaining
to support functions of the University for inclusion in the University’s annual
report.
·
Actively participate in the strategic planning and
budgeting processes of the university.
·
Undertake relevant research and write reports.
·
Take part in the analysis of student attrition,
repetition and graduation rates on all programs.
·
Participate in the analysts of demand trends for all
academic programs
·
Monitor and forecast student and staff trends and identify
research and data needs to support the core functions of the university.
·
Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of
Planning.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·
The Economist/ Statistician should hold a Masters’
degree in Planning Management, Economics or Statistics
·
Possession of a second class honors Bachelor’s
Degree in Economics or Statistics.
·
At least two years’ experience in a corporate
planning department preferably in an institution of higher learning
·
Demonstrated applied quantitative research,
modeling, problem solving, critical and strategic thinking skills
·
Industrious and self-driven
·
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal
skills Record of high integrity
·
Computer literacy skills
·
Excellent data management skills
