Job Summary: The Project

Coordinator will support the World Vision MNCH Project through the implementation

of all project activities in the designated sub-counties/ areas and ensure the

quality of the project in line with Ministry of Health (MoH) and Donor related

policies .


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 


·        
Build and strengthen strategic networks with other

actors to support the districts in implementation of MNCH strategies including:

Goal oriented ANC, HIV/AIDS, EmNOC, ICCM (Integrated Community Case management)

for Pneumonia, Diarrhea and Malaria and nutrition programming, community

systems strengthening including VHT functionality and health advocacy


·        
Work in liaison with the Ministry of Health to

improve government interventions in the area of MNCH, providing evidence using

the internationally recognized models such as LQAS for community based outcomes

and quality improvement approaches including mentoring and coaching of service

providers, LiST and qualitative methodologies.


·        
Offer expert advice to the development of project

designs and annual operational plans of the MNCH project including timed and

targeted Counseling (ttC), mHealth platform at the Village level, Essential

Maternal and newborn Care (EmNOC), contribute to the 100 days through the

Growth Monitoring Promotion (GMP) and provide technical advice to other MNCH

projects.

Representation and advocacy for World Vision (WV)

and other MNCH programming at national level forums using evidence based

frameworks including operations research in the area of systems strengthening

and the contribution of VHTs to MNCH.


·        
Work in liaison with WV staff and district partners

to technically interpret the MNCH technical approaches in the proposal and

facilitate implementation of key activities, including promoting access through

the integrated community outreaches approach, Health centre functionality,

Positive Deviance Hearth, The Child Days Plus, the Baby Friendly Health

Facility Initiatives (BFHI), Helping Babies Breathe and Helping Mothers

Survive, cPMTCT and Signal functions for EmNOC for Uganda.

Project Coordination:


·        
Guide and provide technical support to Community

Development Facilitators.


·        
Coordinate project activity implementation.


·        
Strengthen capacity of implementing partners at

village, sub county and district level


·        
Project Monitoring and Evaluation:


o   Support

effective monitoring, documentation and reporting in compliance with agreed

standards


o   Ensure full

participation of beneficiary communities in design, monitoring and evaluation

by attending community mobilizations, meetings and community trainings.


·        
Finance Management:


o   Ensure proper

management of financial resources and assets in line with WV policies and donor

requirements


o   The incumbent

will support partners and sub grantees to adhere to WV finance and asset

management policies


·        
Performance management and Supervision: Work closely with

the procurement officer and engineer to ensure appropriate MNCH materials are

purchased and construction process of infrastructure under the project are

adhered to the contract agreement


·        
Project Development: Compile

required relevant documents ensuring quality implementation of MNCH in line

with the standards addressing the particular response


·        
Networking and collaboration:


o   Engage with the

District and Sub County Health authorities and support the Program Manager in

managing relations with government structures and civil society coalitions


o   The incumbent

will effectively network with local government structure and any other agencies

undertaking activities in the target community and ensure that such activities

are well integrated with World Vision and community activities to promote

sustainability and ownership of interventions in planning and implementation.


o   Identify areas

for lobbying and advocacy and work with the Health Advisor to develop action

plans/initiatives to address the same.


·        
Documentation and Reporting: Compile field

visit and data validation reports and identify opportunities for improvement

and present monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports in line with WV

standards to the Program Manager.


Qualifications, Skills and

Experience: 


·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree

in Nursing, Nutrition, public health and / or health related discipline.


·        
Possession of a Master’s Degree in Public Health is

an added advantage


·        
At least four years’ experience in managing similar

related programs or projects


·        
The ideal candidate should hold prior leadership

experience in the area of maternal newborn & child health and Nutrition and

HIV models and proven ability in advocacy management and leadership.


·        
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the MNCH,

Nutrition and HIV programming


·        
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work

with diverse teams across the organization


·        
Excellent skills required in program design,

reporting, documentation, monitoring and evaluation


·        
Prior experience in working communities with good

knowledge of public health system and structures


·        
Must be highly creative with strong sense of vision,

commitment and priorities


·        
Excellent organizational skills and an ability to

work with diverse teams across considerable distances Excellent communication

skills (written and oral) and strong interpersonal skills


·        
Demonstrated commitment to World Vision’s mission

statement and Core Values


·        
Must be able to travel 30% of the time
