Responsibilities

Identifies key business and technology drivers that impact application architectures, such as end-user community requirements, existing software distribution capabilities, existing application environment (including legacy and packaged systems), and performance and availability requirements. Key Role:
Serve as a SharePoint Solution Architect in the analysis, design, development, and delivery of Web-based applications. Provide on-site full system development life-cycle support for the development of enterprise-wide application solutions. Design robust architectural solutions and contribute towards the strategy of business growth and needs. Enhance and maintain current software processes, including unit-testing and maintaining numerous applications across a variety of platforms. Work with team members to support the day to day operations, development, integration, and maintenance. Participate in high-profile projects with an emphasis on solid client delivery. Work with a diverse project team with an emphasis on repeatable processes and technical documentation. This position is located in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience in an IT environment
-2+ years of experience with SharePoint Technologies, including Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, Office SharePoint Server 2007, InfoPath, Forms Services, Excel Services, Search, Business Data Catalog, and Web Services
-Experience with Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms, or Business Intelligence
-Experience with Web development, including HTML, CSS, XSL, XSLT, and JavaScript
-Experience with SharePoint templates, including site templates, list templates, and master page customization
-Experience in configuring and working with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) and SQL Server 2005
-Experience with server installation
-Knowledge of the capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and SharePoint Designer 2007, including SharePoint Designer workflows, effective use of the data view Web part (DVWP), content query Web part, data form Web part, navigation customization, and branding customization
-Knowledge of architectural design, Web parts development, management and troubleshooting with a focus on planning, and deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint
-Knowledge of business analysis and business process
-Ability to assist clients with business requirements
-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience with ASP.NET, C#, MOSS 2007, Web Parts, SharePoint Designer, and WSS

Our Client, a major Retail Business, based in Hertfordshire, are looking to recruit a Solution Designer. The successful candidate will have an excellent level of education (degree level (2:1) qualification or equivalent. You will report to the Lead Architect for Information and Integration in Group Technology & Architecture.
