Senior Drilling Engineer - Uganda

A Senior Drilling Engineer is required for a long term contract opportunity with a major Oil & Gas exploration company in Western Africa.
Working with Exploration Manager, Wells Manager – Engineering and Wells Managers – Mobiles to ensure an optimum well and rig sequence with minimum rig moves

Your responsibility and key objectives will be:

Delivering competent well designs that accord with policies, standards, any applicable Government or regulatory authority requirements and recognised Industry standards

Analysing all aspects of performance associated with drilling, testing and completion and proposes improvements
Supporting the health and safety performance of well operations
Working with key geosciences and engineering staff to optimise well design
Inputting to well proposals and early well plan stages
Applying drilling engineering and assure technical integrity
Creating post well reports and reviews

Experience
5-10 years of petroleum experience
Knowledge of industry normal practices associated with drilling, testing, work-over, wire-line and completion operations
Understanding of well control techniques
Knowledge of the engineering criteria associated with well construction and operations planning, design and control issues, hole stability and mud, deviated drilling, completion, testing and production
Familiarity with recognised industry standards and recommended practices

Only local candidates to Western Africa and South Africa will be considered. Candidates from Ghana, Uganda and Ethiopia will be a preference
