Uganda National Bureau of
Standards (UNBS) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Trade Industry and
Cooperatives mandated to coordinate the elaboration of standards and quality of
products and services so as to facilitate fair trade, promote local industries
and protect consumers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support in maintaining a data base of suppliers and
their terms and conditions of service - Upon requisition of goods or services, assist in calling
for quotations/bids from suppliers - Support in evaluating quotations/bids following UNBS
procurement procedures and PPDA guideline - Making recommendations on procurement of goods and
services to the Head of PDU as found necessary - Assist in recommending changes/improvements in
procedures for providing office support so as to lead to efficiency and
effectiveness - Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate
supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Diploma in procurement
and Logistics - At least one year working experience in a reputable organization
- Highly
Computer Literate with skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet
applications - The
applicant must also be conversant with the PPDA Act - The Assistant Procurement Officer should also be a team
player, an excellent communicator with good oral communication and
interpersonal skills.
Age: Between 25-35 years.
