Biogas
Solutions Uganda Ltd (BSU) is a private company limited by guarantee
established in Uganda with the objective to formulate, develop and set in
motion strategies, policies, plans, measures, systems and approaches that
support biogas private sector led development aimed at sustainable improvement
of the livelihoods of rural and peri-urban households in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Field Officers
will be responsible for positioning biogas products and services to the agriculture
sector and specifically focused on coffee farmers initially. The incumbents
develop and implement client- and result-driven business models carry out
capacity building for the different stakeholders in the sector both in business
management and bio-slurry usage and increased sales/distribution of biogas
products and services in Uganda. S/he will also work as a key liaison between
the biogas client, biogas construction enterprise, BSU, and other partners as
appropriate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop
the operational plan for the region/ sector given - Responsible
for market development: establish and maintain relationships with key
partners linking them to biogas construction enterprises. - Implement
the agreed upon models in building effective distribution channels and
effectively share and manage accounts with other actors in the sector. - Conduct
Trainer of Trainees and other extension models in Bio-slurry management
among coffee farmers. - Actively
contribute to the promotion of use of biogas and extension services and
capacity development for extension/advisory services among households. - Perform
other related duties in support of the growth of the biogas sector
development as may be required
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
Field Officer should hold Bachelor’s degrees i.e. BA in any of the fields;
Community Development, Agriculture or Agribusiness Management - Three
or more years of relevant working experience in business development,
sales and marketing, in rural communities, is an added advantage but not a
pre requisite. - Past
experience in Agriculture Extension and Training - Relationships
with large agriculture cooperatives and/or financial institutions a plus. - Willingness
to intensively travel in the area of operation. - Possess
the ability to ride a motorcycle and having a valid permit.
