Company Profile :

Our client in the agriculture sector seeks to fill the position of Deputy Accountant.

Job Description :

Reports to the Accountant and will be based at the company’s Head Office in Kampala, the Deputy Accountant will be responsible for processing high volume invoices, payment runs and reconciliations and undertaking a wide variety of accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

• Handling supplier invoices on a daily basis, ensuring matching to purchase orders and delivery notes. Returning all invalid documents as and when necessary.

• Distribution of supplier invoices for authorization to various departments.

• Processing supplier invoices via Tally Accounting System

• Monitor and review of outstanding invoices with prompt resolution of queries

• Ensuring all supplier invoices are filed accurately and timely.

• Answering suppliers phone calls and resolving queries

• Reconciliation of supplier statements

• Reconcile the Purchase ledger to general ledger on a monthly basis

• Process all petty cash payments, cheque payments and ensure authorization by various officers.

• Assist in preparation of reconciliation including Statement of Financial Position reconciliations.

• Assist in preparation of bank reconciliation.

• Assist in receiving cash payments from customers, and preparation of receipts.

• Ensuring all supplies for raw materials are duly authorized, confirm with receiving officers that company receives value for money.

• Any other duties as required by Accountant & management.

Experience : 2 (Years)

Skill Set :

•Bachelor’s degree in commerce or accounting & Finance.

•ACCA or CPA final stage qualification.

•Must have at least 2 years of experience in the similar Job.

•Must have experience with tally accounting software.
