Job Summary:  The Accountant will provide monthly financial

statements to the BOD.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare

    and produce monthly financial statements for the executive committee

    meetings to be ready by the 6th day of the following month as well as

    annual accounts of the company.

  • Keep

    proper books of accounts, ensure that cash collections are banked intact

    reconcile the cash books to the bank statements and follow up on all

    reconciling items.

  • Guide

    the  management on the financial

    stand of the company in order to regulate its expenditure.

  • Prepare

    the payroll putting into consideration overtime, PAYE deductions, NSSF

    payments and staff advances.

  • Supervise

    and co-ordinate all the activities in accounts section.

  • Ensure

    that all depot managers and suppliers settle their obligations, are

    invoiced & informed regularly and co-ordinate collection of

    reconciliation of inventory in the store department

  • Prepare

    submission and filing of all Tax returns and ensure timely computation of

    VAT Returns to the relevant authorities.

  • Responsible

    for monitoring of effectiveness of internal control systems and taking

    corrective action where necessary.

  • Custody

    and proper monitoring of the use of cheque books.

  • Ensure

    that all funds released are properly accounted for.

  • Perform

    any other duties assigned to him by the Manager


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, ACCA

    certified or CPA

  • At

    least four years’ experience in a busy organization in the same industry

  • High

    degree of Integrity

  • High

  • Self

    organization
