The National Animal Genetics Resources Centre and Data Bank,
(NAGRC&DB) is a body corporate under the Ministry of Agriculture Animal
Industry and Fisheries whose mandate is
to take a leading role in establishing a comprehensive National Animal Breeding
Programme in Uganda.
Job Summary:
The Internal Auditor will be responsible for providing an advisory role
on policies and procedures within the institution.
Key Duties
and Responsibilities:
- Conducts internal audits to assess the
adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the established internal
controls and procedures. - Regularly prepares quarterly and annual audit
reports for management. - Reviews and reports on the reliability and
integrity of financial and reporting data so that information provided
allows for preparation of accurate financial statements. - Intuitively examines and verifies all requests
and transactions of the organization. - Conducts regular value for money audits to
ensure that the intended purpose for the funds budgeted for is achieved. - Performs annual board of survey in order to
check for existence, ownership and condition of all assets - Guides on accounting procedures.
- Audits procurement procedures and payments to
ensure that all goods, services and works are properly ordered, received,
examined and paid for in respect to regulations.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree
in Business Administration or Commerce majoring in Audit. - At least five years’ working experience in a
similar institution. - Hold professional accounting qualification i.e.
CPA, ACCA, or CIMA.
