About US:
The Aga Khan Health Service is an agency which is under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) that support activities in the health field and manages more than 200 hospitals, some of which are Aga Khan Hospitals.
Job Summary:
The Medical Officer will be responsible for the provision of clinical care to patients. S/he will work with a team of professional medical staff to ensure optimal delivery of quality patient care.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·Assess and manage patients including both regular and emergency care
·Actively participate in the review and development of appropriate policies and procedures for patients’ health care to formulate best practice guidelines.
·Periodically initiate and participate in clinical research activities, institutional quality improvement and patient safety activities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBCh.B)
·The candidate must also be registered with the Uganda Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board Certification in ACLS, ATLS
·A minimum of two years post internship experience
·Excellent communication skills
·Be a good team player
·Demonstrated respect for diversity and cultural sensitivities
·Computer literacy i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Office Application computer skills
