Job Summary:  The Business Development Coordinator will

support Plan Uganda in implementing a Resource Mobilization Strategy aiming

at building relationships with donors, identifying funding opportunities;

develop new proposals and maintaining high levels of compliance.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Actively

    support resource mobilization work at Plan Uganda including identification

    of funding opportunities, coordination of project proposal development and

    review of documents in line with the County Strategic Plan and Plan Global

    Resource Mobilization Guidelines.

  • Technically

    support the development of resource mobilization skills and capacities for

    Plan Uganda staff and partners in line with the Country Office ambitions.

  • Render

    support in partnership development and corporate engagement activities at

    Plan Uganda in line with the partnership policy.

  • Technically

    support grants start up activities in line with Plan Uganda established

    guidelines and standards.

  • Document

    and shared key compliance issues and ensures all Plan Uganda teams and

    partners on grants comply with donor requirements and Plan Global policies

    relating to grants management.

  • Ensure

    timely quality reporting for all grants in line with donor requirements.

  • Coordinate

    donor visits with key project and administration staff to ensure good donor

    relations and enrich project outputs

  • Actively

    coordinate grant closure processes in line with Plan Uganda established

    guidelines and standards.

  • Support

    Budget allocation and tracking and ensure effective cost recovery right

    from project design through periodic planning in line with Plan Uganda

    finance policies and or donor guidelines.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The

    Plan International Business Development Coordinator should hold a

    qualification in Development Studies, Business Administration/Accounting,

    Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration; preferably at

    master’s level; Post graduate qualifications in Project Planning and

    Management, Funding Raising or other related field will be an added

    advantage.

  • Strong

    knowledge of leading donor requirements and writing styles

  • Broad

    awareness of current issues in the field of development, and familiarity

    with children’s issues

  • Extensive

    knowledge in Program planning, design development and management

  • Detailed

    knowledge in grants and compliance management issues

  • Fundraising

    and resource mobilization, including donor relations and grants management

  • Skills

    and competency in budget development and management

  • Effective

    Coordination skills

  • Effective

    Communication skills

  • Partnership

    Management

  • Computer

    literacy skills

  • Competency

    in the Use of virtual office applications.

  • Ability

    to work in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent

    interpersonal skills
