Africa Capacity Building Officer

Salary: Grade D (5,983,367 UGX – 7,008,522 UGX per annum)

This is a full-time post to be based at the MRG Africa Office in Kampala, although there could be some flexibility regarding location depending on circumstances. This position will initially be for a one-year contract with likelihood of renewal/extension.

Do you have at least three years’ experience in the field of NGO organisational development, networking, training, coaching and/or partnership development? Do you have excellent coaching, teamwork, and communication skills? Are you knowledgeable about minority issues and the NGO sector in Africa?

MRG is looking to recruit a Capacity Building Officer to support our Africa-based partners and their staff to develop and grow so as to serve their minority beneficiaries more effectively. The post will involve working with both established, high capacity partners as well as emerging partners to provide support on areas such as leadership, governance, fundraising, gender mainstreaming, and monitoring and evaluation. We are seeking an individual with a strong ability to impart knowledge and skills with at least two years’ experience of facilitation, training, coaching and mentoring. Candidates should also have good knowledge of funders based in Africa, as well as successful experience applying to these donors for support. Strong communication skills in both English and French are a requirement for this post.

Please note that as it is anticipated this post will be based at the MRG Africa office in Kampala, applicants should have or be able to obtain the right to work in Uganda. In the case the Capacity Building Officer is not based at the MRG Africa office, they would be expected to make regular visits to the Kampala office.
