*P*SI seeks qualified, dynamic candidates for the position of Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for Uganda. The DCOP will be responsible for assisting the Chief of Party in planning, supervising, and implementing the anticipated Social Marketing Project aimed at improving the utilization of health related products and services in Uganda. S/he will assume leadership and oversight of the project in the absence of the COP. The candidate will have strong technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills and experience. This full-time position is based in Kampala, Uganda and reports to the COP.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support the COP in leading the strategic and financial implementation of the Social Marketing project

  • Manage donor requirements, including reports and budgets, and ensure project deliverables are achieved.

  • Draft monthly, quarterly and annual program reports, and contribute to financial reports

  • Coordinate closely with administrative, financial, and operations teams

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including government, donors, and partners and attend relevant technical working groups, conferences etc. as required.

  • Coordinate with PSI headquarters to ensure that program and reporting activities follow best practices

  • Ensure project implementation follows all donor grant terms and conditions

  • Contribute to internal and external program planning and reporting, including collaboration with stakeholders on workplans, donor reporting, and monitoring and evaluation

  • Mentor staff and build capacity to independently implement, manage, and improve project activities

  • Manage the human resources within the team, including recruitment, development, and supervision.

  • Support Chief of Party in other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :


  • A Master’s Degree or higher in Public Health, Social or Behavioral Sciences or related field;

  • A minimum of eight years of progressively increasing responsibility working in public health in the field of Social Marketing and/or the private sector;

  • Demonstrated knowledge and work experience in health service delivery in the private, public, and social marketing sectors;

  • Experience in developing countries managing social marketing private sector activities of a similar scope and size;

  • Demonstrated management skills, including relevant experience in direct supervision of professional staff;

  • Depth and breadth of knowledge of, and experience in, social marketing programming;

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills (in English); and

  • Excellent past performance references.
