Position Title:Election Officer/Assistant District Registrars (23  Positions)Number of Positions :23 PositionsOrganisation: The Electoral CommissionEmployment Type:Full Time PermanentApplication Deadline:19th January, 2015The Electoral Commission, which is established under Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and mandated to conduct public elections and referenda professionally, impartially and efficiently. It was set up under Article 60 to 67 of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: ·             Support in drawing and implementing work plans for the District Electoral Commission office.·             Update and maintain records for the District Electoral Commission equipment and re-usable materials.·             Compile and submit periodic District Electoral Commission reports.·             Mentor and supervise subordinate staff.·             In charge of monitoring electoral activities in the district; nominations, campaigns and polling.·             Counter signatory to the district Electoral Commission bank account.·             Counter sign payment vouchers.·             Minute Secretary to District meetings.·             Perform any other official duties as assigned.Qualifications, Skills and Experience: ·             The Election Officer/Assistant District Registrars should be Ugandans holding Honors Bachelor’s Degrees in Arts, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education, Business Administration or a closely related field from a recognized University /Institution.·             All applicants should have a minimum of two years of relevant working experience.·             Computer literacy skills and knowledge and being a registered voter are added advantages·             High moral character and integrity·             Possess the ability to command respect.·             Self-motivated and strategic thinker·             Working knowledge of Government Policies and Administrative Procedures.·             Excellent written and spoken English with strong report writing and presentation skills.·             Excellent interpersonal and team work skills.·             Capacity to work with senior personalities in different occupations.·             Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.·             Possess the ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.All applications with comprehensively typed CVs showing the applicant’s contact address with day time telephone numbers, addresses and day time telephone numbers of three referees, copies of academic transcripts and certificates should be sent to the address below.The envelopes should be clearly marked at the top with the words “Application for the post of……”The Head Human Resource Management Department,

Baylor - Uganda has four operational areas; HIV/AIDS care, treatment and prevention services, maternal child health services, Health Professional training and Clinical Research.Baylor-Uganda works with the MOH in a number of Districts in western Uganda to strengthen health systems for improved delivery of HIV/AIDS services.
