Save the Children seeks to fill the following vacant positions and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Persons for the operations.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the person will provide technical assistance for aspects related to financial management and reporting. The Cost and management Accountant may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.

Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications:

Minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration or finance management or professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICSA etc or the equivalent accrued working experience in a related position.At least 4 years relevant experience with International NGO’s particularly those addressing human/children’s rights and those applying partnership approaches is desirable.

General specifications applicable to all positions:

Experience of working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights Governance, Health, Nutrition,Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is an added advantage.Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diversebackgrounds and culturesAbility to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coachingExcellent time management and planning capacity.Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.How to apply:

REPORT TO: General Manager

Job Description (Duties):

In consultation with other senior managers identify short and long-term financial targets which are in line with company’s overall corporate strategy.
Monitor and report on the financial performance of Company in terms of the above targets against budgets/plans, and review and report on variations to plans, offering action to take advantage of any given opportunity.
Support the Management in the preparation and monitoring of the financial Business Plan, and in the preparation of financial report
Ensures that monthly, quarterly and other periodic accounts and financial statements are produced accurately and on a timely basis.
Develop, implement and monitor plans to optimize company’s cash management functions.
Co-ordinate the provision of revenue information including the daily cash positions and ensure all the revenues are billed, Invoiced in time and recognized in the General Ledger.
Implement the company’s credit management policies and procedures and produce timely and accurate credit reports for all the customer segments
Ensure that goods received are in accordance with the relevant Purchase Order in terms of quantity, quality, price and Liaise with the GM to ensure timely payment to suppliers.
Facilitates regular internal and external audits and files statutory returns.
Review Requisitions and issues Purchase Orders as appropriate and Liaise with various agencies to ensure timely supply of materials ordered.
Work performance of staff in the department including their development, deployment, appraisal, training etc. in line with company policies and procedures

Necessary Qualifications:

A bachelors degree in a business related field.
Additional accounting qualifications i.e. ACCA/ CPA
Supervisory skills.
Strong analytical skills.
